There were no hurt feelings in this scenario at all. There was however a small amount of frustration, not defensiveness, surrounding the inability to fix an issue that resulted from the idea that the Monroney Label that is mandated by the Federal Government and supplied by the Manufacturer of the vehicle was somehow inadequate or misleading to the customer. As the supplier of the vehicle we have no control over what's printed on these or how the customer views its completeness. What we can and do control is how we present and demonstrate the vehicle and disclose what equipment the dealership has installed. Both of those things are handled in the demonstration of the vehicle and at the disclosure of the paperwork at time of signature. Our expectation is that when a customer signs a document taking ownership of their vehicle they would not sign if they were not clear and completely satisfied. We do not however expect customers to return, raise their voice, curse at and attack the character of the staff with the intention to "get something for free" (as you stated at the end of our conversation) when we have done everything in full disclosure and complete transparency. Unfortunately, in cases such as this, we can become the sacrifice for past life experiences and we have seen that it's just best to just move along in our path and purpose.
