Thank you for responding to my review. I appreciate that you take the time to read and pay attention to the reviews. There really isn’t much more to say. There were two issues as described above: 1) The filter definitely didn't need IMMEDIATE attention as stated by the tech who performed the inspection. I could understand that a concerned tech put it as "yellow" item that requires attention in the future, but not as a "red" immediate attention item. I checked the filter myself after the service and it was remarkably clean, good for at least another 5-10k miles. Also, somewhat surprisingly the tech did not mention the cabin filter which was much more dirty (I'll replace it myself) - I wonder if the tech even checked it at all. 2) The price just doesn't make senses. The price quoted in the report was $84 dollars. The engine air filter cost $32 on parts.lexus.com and $28 on autoparts.toyota.com - the rwo websires I use to buy OEM parts. There is no additional labor involved as the tech already had to remove the old filter to inpect it. So the only additional "labor" would be walk8ng to parts dept and picking up a new filter, hardly a $50 job. Unfortunately this is a practice that many dealers and independent shops do, and it reflects poorly on the industry as a whole. I have little experience with Lexus at Automall and frankly what happens doesn't surprise me. Sometimes it takes a while to find a good shop and service advisor. Fortunately, I have always been able to find one, albeit sometimes it takes looking around.
