CC Hyundai of Rockwall reached out to me and offered THE BEST DEAL to trade in my wife’s high end low miles Sonata. She deserved something new so we went. She found a car she liked and their offer was reasonable on our trade-in so we pulled the trigger on a “used” previous-year low mile top trim Sonata. It started throwing codes 2 weeks later. The dealer spent weeks trouble shooting the codes and even told me they had to contact Hyundai research to deal with the unusual circumstances. I don’t know about you, but I buy a car to drive it, not have it sit in the shop. Because ea code was “different” it was gonna be hard to go down the lemon law route not to mention that’s just a plane pain and the fact this vehicle was a low-mile short-term ownership leads me to believe there is NO WAY these facts were not known by the dealer. After 2 months of “ownership” half that being in THEIR shop I went back to them and demanded some compensation to which they were unwilling to address in any fashion so I decided to sell them back their xxx. If they had any integrity they would own their failure to uphold their responsibility to sell a reliable product but again they were unwilling so the end result was we lost our $17k trade-in, and had the privilege of buying a car for retail and selling it back to them for wholesale. Throwing in tax we lost about $27,000 in the transaction. When I had a discussion with their sales manager trying to get him to explain how they could justify such horrible treatment of a customer his response, repeatedly, was “The market had changed.” Horrible HORRIBLE mindset if you believe in the product you are offering the public. I still believe in the product but clearly no longer believe in Clay Cooley Hyundai to offer a quality product OR any level of customer service. I know you probably don’t care Mr. CC Rockwall Sales Manager, since people will always shop your location out of ignorance. Since your pathetic example I have spent about $100,000 at Hyundai dealerships that aren’t yours and been responsible for steering away hundreds of thousands of more buyers to any dealership other than CC Hyundai of Rockwall. For anyone willing to drive a couple hours I HIGHLY recommend you check out Bob Howard Hyundai on the south side of OKC. GREAT prices, stellar customer service, EASY worry free transactions most of which can be completed online. WELL worth the short drive. Ask for Phil Wartley. And either way… Don’t pay Clay. As it applies to names later in this review, this transaction occurred early in 22 so I can only guess who the sales manager was. More
