I drove about an hour to order my new vehicle with Herlong Ford, but it was worth it. Ordering took a while because they are a small dealership in a small town and were slammed, but there was no pres Herlong Ford, but it was worth it. Ordering took a while because they are a small dealership in a small town and were slammed, but there was no pressure or skeevy sales tactics. Also, no addendum stickers (and at the time, no doc fee, but this has changed to a low one). When the time came for the F&I stuff, it was all very low pressure - no one tried to convince me I needed some warranty or plan that I didn't want. More like, "Do any of these interest you? No? Well, then just circle no." When I asked questions, the answers were straightforward - I never got the sense that anyone was trying to blow smoke. When the time came to trade in my old car, I got a fair price, not a lowballed price, right off the bat. On the minus side, I could have wish for a bit more frequent communication about the status of the order, even if it was "no change." And, the other thing I didn't like was that I ordered the car with no doc fee, but they instituted one about three months before my truck came in - I could have fought that, but decided not to since it was pretty low compared to some of the other dealerships in the state. In the end, it was a very pleasant transaction though if you like the big dealership vibe, I doubt this is the place for you. More

I purchased a 1996 F-250 from Herlong Ford in Edgefield SC for about $12,000. I live in Virginia so I bought this truck sight unseen. According to the NADA, this price would mean the truck is in good, approaching excellent condition. It is not, this truck is in fair condition at best, Had I been there in person I would not have paid more than $8,000 for this truck. The sales person and customer service manager were super helpful, right up until the truck was delivered. Immediately upon delivery I noticed the truck had no backseat, someone had replaced the backseat with a big speaker box which was not shown in any of the pictures in the listing. I had specifically mentioned to the sales person on the phone I needed something with a backseat because I was planning to use this for family camping trips and such. I also immediately noticed the windshield wipers were completely worn out and the tires had less than 50% life left on them. I immediately tried to call the sales person but it took several days to get ahold of someone. After a week of arguing with them they agreed to send me a $200 check to help cover the costs of a new seat. It was better than nothing, but not near enough to cover the costs. Then, when I took the truck for the state safety inspection, it failed due to a brake light out, the reverse lights not working (at all) and the front brakes worn to the point of needing replacement. So, after paying 12 grand for a truck I can’t even legally drive in my state, this dealership tells me I’m on my own to fix it because I bought it “as is”. When buying an “as is” vehicle online, I had the understanding that it would at least be fully functional, especially for the price I paid. I only drove the truck twice since I got it, and they told me all those issues could have happened since it left there which is a ridiculous assertation. Especially when they claim they did a thorough inspection on it before they sold it. They seem helpful until they get your money, then you're completely on your own. Especially if you live out of state since they figure there is nothing you can do about them cheating you out of your hard earned money. The only reason they get 1 star is because zero stars is not an option. More

Outstanding service at Herlong I had an issue with a replacement windshield in my 2014 Ford Flex. Another company had replaced my windshield and it began leaking. The other company I had an issue with a replacement windshield in my 2014 Ford Flex. Another company had replaced my windshield and it began leaking. The other company insisted it was a Ford issue and ask that I take it to a dealer. Herlong agreed to meet with them and had them remove the windshield. Upon removal Herlong determined the leak was a result of a bad seal. The windshield was reinstalled and water tested and no leaks were found. Herlong went over and above in investigating an issue that was caused by another company. Herlong even cleaned the headliner to remove the stain from the leak. The folks at Herlong don’t just talk about customer service they live it. Thanks again. More

Service Your service department needs a manager who has knowledge of common problems with Ford. Your manager Bobby had me wait 3 months before getting a loaner to us to fix a problem with truck since purchase. problem still not fixed a year later. My truck has been at your dealership more than in my possession in the last year because your mechanics are apparently not knowledable in their field . The Ford F-150 has a known problem with the IWE system which your service department refuses to address. Within a month of purchase I had to replace all 4 tires, break pads and rotors. That should never have happened when you spend $32000 on a vehicle . I spent $1500 on an extended warranty that no other Ford dealer in my area will accept . I would never recommend Herlong . More
