Earlier this year I purchased an expensive used vehicle ( just shy of 40k) from Darcars Lexus Mt. Disco. At the time of purchase, I was assured by Antonio Otero, the salesperson, that the gas tank would be f just shy of 40k) from Darcars Lexus Mt. Disco. At the time of purchase, I was assured by Antonio Otero, the salesperson, that the gas tank would be full. As it turns out, it was not. Ortega suggested I return to their dealership for the promised gas; an unrealistic proposal since I live several hours away (one way) on a good day and considerably longer with almost certain traffic. While Otero admitted his own negligence, he failed to take responsibility for his error. Ortega also issued me a second key fob at time of purchase which turned out to be non working. When I notified Otero of the situation, he largely ignored me and again failed to resolve the issue. Otero knew, or should have known, that the key fob was not working and neglected to inform me; clearly deceptie and/or negligent if not somewhat dishonest. Otero is not to be trusted despite his seemingly friendly and good-natured demeanor. Potential buyers beware and be warned of Darcars, particularly Antonio Otero, when considering an automotive purchase. Follow up Review. When Sales Manager Stanley Passoni was informed of gas and key fab issues he refused to take remedial action. I then contacted Akshay Mehta, the general manager of the dealership, by phone to complain. Since I live several hours away from the dealership, Mehta specifically and explicitly promised to send me a check for the gas saying “it’s not a problem”. That turned out to be a blatant lie. I never received a check for the gas. When the general manager of the company is dishonest, it is not surprising that others in the company are also lacking in integrity. Mehta then ignored my attempts to reconnect by refusing to respond to my repeated emails and multiple phone calls. It was then that I posted the above 12/2 2023 review online. Within a half hour, I was contacted by Passoni asking me to rescind the review without ever suggesting, in any way, that the review contained any incorrect, false, or misleading information whatsoever. After several weeks of deception, excuses, delays, and puffing, Mehta finally agreed to send a check for the gas, the non-working key fob, and a few other services. Yet after several more weeks, still no check. It was only after warning Mehta of a suit in small claims court that a check was finally sent, but it did not include payment for the promised tank of gas. When I reached out to them for clarification, Passoni blocked my emails and Metha ignored them. Mehta and Passoni are also not to be trusted. Well-intended, unsuspecting car shoppers be cautious when dealing with Darcars, particularly Sales Manager Stanley Passoni and General Manager Akshay Mehta. If you have been treated unfairly by anyone at Darcars and they cease back-and-forth communications, you might consider posting an honest review online to get their attention and to alert other would-be victims of their behavior. If all else fails, there is always small claims court. More
