I found a brand new vehicle I was set on buying. The sales person Amanda was so thorough, kind and helpful. My trade had over 100,000 miles on it but was in pretty fair shape, I thought. They handed The sales person Amanda was so thorough, kind and helpful. My trade had over 100,000 miles on it but was in pretty fair shape, I thought. They handed me a form to fill out which I quickly filled in while I was waiting outside about my trade in. A 2014 BmW X1. On the form it asked if I had used my insurance as a result of an accident. I did not so I said no. I knew that they would access my computer in the car which stores its history of warning lights, impacts, etc. so I didn't go into detail knowing they would just look at the history in the computer and the form was a yes no just x the box.. The sales manager Monica accused me of trying to hide a minor fender bender!!! I mean accuse me in a very rude and demeaning tone. She actually said," you could probably sell it on the street and not disclose an accident. WOW. Is this how she makes sales? I'm a cash customer buying a $40,000 vehicle. She wanted to give me $1500 for my car after I said I have brand new $1000 tires-Bridgestone tires. I said I'd rather give my trade to someone who doesn't have a car than trade it. My so paid $4000 for a 1999 Mazda Protoge a year ago. She said," we're a dealership we don't sell cars like that we would give it to another dealer. This was probably the worst encounter I've ever had buying anything. Instead of asking me to clarify any box I may have x'd that she had a question about, she assumed the worst about a customer paying cash for a $40,000 vehicle. I can take my money elsewhere and perhaps she should not work directly with customers. She also could have said we can't take your trade! I would have said fine, I'm ok with that. Did she actually think humiliating a customer is going to make a sale???I'm not interested in being humiliated by someone in sales. In the work I did for 35 years, I would never treat a single soul like that. More
