On certain passenger vehicles, a wiring harness, located beneath the carpet in the front passenger floor area, can become damaged by passenger traffic as the wire harness is rubbed against a body seam in the floor panel. When the harness is damaged, engine drivability could be affected, and it could result in sudden engine stalling.
Action Need To Fix It:
Dealers will reposition the wire harness and attach it permanently in a location where the wire harness cannot be damaged. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification began Feb. 6, 2001. Owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Daewoo at 1-877-463-2396.

Certain passenger vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 201, "Occupant Protection in Interior Impact." In the event of a crash in which the air bags do not deploy, there is a possibility of increased head injury to the front seat passenger from contact with the passenger side air bag cover.
Action Need To Fix It:
Dealers will install new energy absorbing air bag mounting brackets. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification began May 20, 2002. Owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Daewoo at 1-877-362-1234, selection 1.

On certain passenger vehicles equipped with alloy wheels, the wheels were manufactured without the steel bushing inserts around the wheel bolt openings, causing increased friction between the wheel bolt seats and the wheel bolts. This can result in the bolts loosening during hard braking. The wheels could detach from the vehicle.
Action Need To Fix It:
Dealers will re-torque the wheel bolts and will update the owner's manual wheel bolt torque specification. Owner notification was expected to begin during December 1999. Owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Daewoo at 1-877-463-2396.
