Bottom Line: Joe and the team at Windward Kia were a refreshing reminder of how people-first and compassionate business relationships should look. Especially in an industry not known for it any more. Success for any business starts with a product or service consumers want. Success really thrives, however, when the company invests in the right type of people to bring the product to the consumer, be stewards of the company’s philosophy, and ensure people to walk away feeling like they got a fair deal from a trustworthy party on the other side. The auto industry has earned a reputation for sugar-coated predatory sales tactics to convince buyers to purchase more than they need at rates higher than they should and on a compressed timeline. Good, bad, or otherwise, there is just a trust deficit here. With the wild popularity of the Telluride, Kia really could do all of the above and still sell the car (and I know from the social media landscape that they ARE doing this in many places). Our experience at Aloha Windward Kia, and specifically working with Joe Kinoxxxxa, was just a completely different experience than any other dealership we visited during our car buying process (although we should have expected it b/c a neighbor recommended him to us for this very reason). Joe was very generous with his time, educated us on all of our options, and applied absolutely no pressure to purchase things we didn’t need. We were very anxious about how to get the Telluride in the configuration we wanted with such high demand for the vehicle. SOMEHOW he was able to find us the needle in the haystack and help us get the perfect car. Not only that, but bent over backward to help us get one additional feature my husband really wanted. Again, the demand is so high that Joe didn’t have to do ANY of that…people are literally lining up to buy these things. Further, we are coming up close to a year after our purchase and we STILL have a direct line to him for any of the million questions I’ve had. He really means it when he says the relationship is just getting started on the day we bought it. Joe came highly recommended to us and we have continued to recommend him to anyone looking for a car. If you are interested in a Kia and on the fence about where to start, save yourself a ton of time and frustration and just go sit down with him.
