The service department is terrible! DON'T GO THERE! It's the worst I've seen in my 63 years. Pay close attention to your car. Especially if you are a woman or a senior citizen. I went in on March 23, 2026 for service. All I wanted was a simple oil and filter change, and a tire rotation. The bad attitude and the unprofessional attitude of the person made me jump in my car and go to another dealership.

This dealership completely wasted months of my time and held my money for a vehicle order that was never actually placed with GM. The worst part of the experience was dealing with Linda Sievers, the dealership’s Inventory Manager. If you value your time, avoid dealing with Linda entirely. Here is what happened. In November I placed a $1,000 deposit on a GMC Yukon Denali special order. I was told the typical delivery window was 90–180 days with many arriving closer to 90 days. What they failed to disclose is that the dealership did not even have allocation to order the vehicle. After weeks of asking for updates, Linda Sievers eventually explained that the dealership had only entered the order internally but it was NOT actually submitted to GM and was not in production. They took a deposit on a “special order” vehicle that was not even able to be ordered yet. Every follow-up after that was the same confusing runaround about “allocation,” “order cycles,” and “constraints.” Instead of taking responsibility for the situation, the responses were dismissive and unhelpful. Months later it got even worse. After continuing to wait, I was suddenly told that GM wasn’t building diesel Yukons at the time. Gmail - YUKON SPECIAL ORDER lin… So the dealership took a deposit for a configuration that wasn’t even being produced. At that point it became clear the dealership either: • does not understand how factory orders work, or • simply does not care if customers’ deposits sit there while nothing actually happens When I finally requested my $1,000 deposit refund, I had to escalate the issue and threaten a credit card dispute just to get the dealership to process it. Only then did management finally act. The entire experience was defined by: • misleading expectations during the sales process • months of wasted time • poor communication • and an inventory manager (Linda Sievers) whose approach to customers was dismissive and unprofessional. Buying a vehicle should not require constant follow-ups just to get basic answers. If you are considering ordering a vehicle from this dealership: Make sure they actually have allocation and can submit the order to GM immediately before giving them a deposit. And based on my experience: Avoid dealing with Linda Sievers if at all possible. There are plenty of GMC dealers in Southern California that treat customers far better. Take your business elsewhere.

I was in the market for a Hummer EV and test drove one at Thorson, I've also brought my Hummer EV in for warranty repairs (hasnt been 400 miles yet). I had worked with a broker who had found me a Hummer EV deal in San Jose, and came to Thorson to test drive one. They had one I liked, and showed the Jose one of the sales reps the deal I had and said if they can match I'll get theirs instead. Took them almost two weeks to get back to me, but by that time I had already had one delivered to me. Fast forward 25 miles in- my hummer has an horrible dashboard rattle, a loose rear view mirror, quality issues with the dome light and trunk headliner, and a trunk that won't latch closed properly. Took it in with a reservation, I think the service reps name was Lola - no loaner provided. Picked up hummer a few days later, and they had only fixed the mirror and attributed the rattle to a loose tool in the back. Took it back two weeks later, because the trunk still wasn't fixed and it had a rattle. Got it back couple days later, trunk still isn't fixed and rattle wasn't even addressed. Now I'll be dropping car off again tomorrow. Really trying with this place, but not very professional to leave issues unaddressed (literally no line items written down for at least duplicating concerns or unable to duplicate concerns - just blank).

I recently had one of the most frustrating dealership experiences I have ever encountered while trying to purchase a used 2025 GMC Sierra EV from Thorson Pasadena GMC. After seeing the truck listed on their website, I immediately called on a Friday and spoke with Walter. I explained my situation, my interest level, and my trade in details for my 2018 Ford Raptor. Walter had me complete the appraisal forms and gave me an acceptable offer on the trade in and assured me that he would make the truck available for me to buy on Monday. Because I live more than an hour away and had family commitments over the weekend, I could not come in sooner, and he acknowledged and agreed to hold the vehicle by placing it in service status. Monday morning, we confirmed my arrival time by text. Everything seemed squared away. After driving nearly an hour, I was two minutes away when I received a call from Chris informing me that the truck had just been sold. I still went inside the dealership to speak with the sales manager. Instead of any meaningful explanation or accountability, I got a simple shrug and a reminder that they “do not hold cars,” completely ignoring the fact that their team had already agreed to do exactly that. No real apology, no remorse, no ownership, just indifference. Chris and another associate, Jonathan, did offer to try to locate a similar truck at auction and deliver it to my home for inspection, which at the time felt like a decent attempt to make things right. Unfortunately, that promise turned into nothing as well. I never received a follow up call, not a single update, and no apology from anyone at the dealership. I was essentially ghosted after being told they would help correct the situation. I had gone out of my way to prepare my trade in, rearranged my schedule, and drove a long distance based entirely on their word. The lack of communication, broken commitments, and complete disregard for a customer’s time was incredibly disappointing. Thankfully, I found the same model Sierra EV at Culver City Chevy, where I was treated with professionalism and respect from start to finish. I would strongly caution anyone considering working with Thornton Pasadena GMC. My experience showed poor communication, poor internal coordination, and a willingness to make commitments they do not honor.
