Can't say enough good things about CarLotz. An exceptional experience in every aspect. I wanted to trade my car in and had been to the usual dealer route. Found a car I liked and was offered a 'lowball' trade offer. I had done my homework and knew what my car was worth. They offered low wholesale for my car, which was spotless and didn't have a scratch. I walked out. Found a vehicle of interest that was at CarLotz. Good price, and near exactly what I was looking for. So off I went. They were professional and not pushy (note that they don't work on commission!!). Pricing was upfront and all inclusive (cost, their selling fee, tax, tag, and title) without a bunch of useless haggling. They even let me take the vehicle for an independent mechanic inspection (AAA Care Care Center for $116 -- a bargain for peace of mind and a 2 hour complete top to bottom inspection by a certified mechanic). The inspection confirmed that the car was in great shape and CarFax was provided by CarLotz as well. Bought the car and told the CarLotz folks that I would like them to sell my car. They appraised the car and made all arrangements for selling it at a fair price. They took care of everything -- prep, inspection, pictures, web advertising, test drives -- all I had to do was complete some minor paperwork, sign over the title, and pick up my check following the sale. ABSOLUTELY PAINLESS PROCESS FROM START TO FINISH. Took 10 days and $3,300 (44%) above what the lowball dealership wanted to give me. I now have a great vehicle that fits my needs and have sold a vehicle at a fair price. The staff at CarLotz made the whole process of buying and selling a car easy. I can't say enough good things about how I was treated. I doubt I will be heading back to a dealership in the future -- they still play the stupid games, like let me talk to my manager and they try to confuse everything with a bunch of smokescreen garbage. I know where I will be going the next time I want to buy or sell a car. Can't say enough good things about the whole experience of buying and selling through CarLotz. They are the best.

Would not recommend anyone use this dealership. I purchased a used car through them and paid in full. 30 days lated I still did not have the car. Each time I visited or called they gave another excuse for why they did not have it. Several times they told me to wait as the delivery truck was coming, and then they closed their shop even though they had promised to call me as I waited across the street. On the day they said it finally did arrive, they refused to let me see the car! In the end they returned my money, with no appologies or cares about the entire process they subjected me and my family to. Unprofessional, uncaring, and suspect dealership and staff. While waiting there several times, saw and heard other customers in similar situations with them having paid for cars and after lengthy times getting no delivery. Stay away from this business.

Bought the car in April 2023. Went for its first oil change and my mechanic said it was low and I need to keep an eye on it. Car had a leak on both sides of the engine, which was repaired (by Sheehy because CarMax didn't have the tools to fix it). Even after the repairs, the car is still consuming oil at an alarming rate (1 quart per 700-1000 miles). The warranty that CarMax pushed onto me through Fidelity Warranty services is refusing to cover the cost and CarMax is also refusing to pay. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's office. I also have a meeting with a lawyer and have reached out to some local newspapers as well.

If I could give this business a negative star rating I would. The two women who work there are nice and friendly, but they are definitely "used car sales people". I purchased a vehicle from them on October 15, 2018 and it has already died. Supposedly the vehicle has passed Virginia safety inspections, but I am not sure how it passed because when I took it for inspection in Maryland I was told that it wasn't safe to drive. It was missing 2 lug nuts from a wheel along with a broken rod on the wheel. But more importantly it was rusted so badly that when we got it up on the lift you could see through the rusted panels into the vehicle. We saw the rust at the time we purchased it, but was told that it was "superficial" so there was no need to worry. Yeah right... the auto body shop quoted me $5K to START the repairs. We contacted the company, but because the car was "as is" sale I have no recourse to get my money back. Additionally, the car has now stopped working totally. I was driving and all of a sudden it stopped and would not start again. Unfortunately the vehicle is now destined for the junk yard because it isn't worth the money it would take to make it run again. NEVER EVER buy from this company. It is a fraudulent business and will take you money while leaving you hanging out to dry.

We bought a 2008 gold Dodge Grand Caravan in 2016 from Champion Auto and the transmission was diagnosed at Amaco, the paperwork turned into and read by Champion. We sold it back to them in 2017 and paid them for another vehicle a 2009 Subaru Forester. The transmission had a complete failure and required to be replaced not even rebuilt, less than 30 days later. The powertrain warranty left us still paying $1000.00 to replace it. During the time it took to diagnose I was unable to ever get a hold of Scott, who Donna insisted made all purchase and mechanical decisions, but was "at auction" or off any days and times we called or were there to speak with him as Donna could not make any decision about assisting us or the questions we had about how they would help with our second purchase from them with no way to drive it. Donna even went as far as to tell me they had been closed on a business day they agreed to call us back but having called from an unknown number that was revealed to be untrue as the gentlemen who answered gave us their hours of operation but repeated that Scott was unavailable. We currently have their loaner white 2003 Tahoe listed at $6,999 sitting in our driveway that also didn't run for us to use. We returned it mid need, my husband listed the issues he knew aside from it being very far out of oil change, low coolant light on, brake and head lights out, and a bad front passenger tire. After picking it back up after it had been to Merchants for...something We found the same issues aside from the headlight fixed and the service engine soon light was now on. Shortly after that we were unable to get it back to them and once notified it is still here because Scott is inevitably unavailable. I had a great experience with Chastity and recommend her but Donna and Scott gave us the run around for a very long 2 weeks now. We had prepared to spend more money to replace our other car with them but after having the Subaru be a loss not even 30 days into our purchase this has put our family of 5 in a very poor position, much less the 2007 black Volvo S40 had a very large wood chip nest behind the radiator with chewed through wiring, so we couldn't purchase it when we had planned. I felt swindled by them. They knew the circumstances and strain this has put on us but have a lack of duty to their customers. We have remained calm, however frustrated and do not plan to ever purchase from or recommend them again.

I test drove a 2002 Chevy Avalanche (orange). I test drove it on a Thursday. Sun roof leaked. Owners said they would fix (most likely drains clogged) and call me back the next day (Friday) so that I can come back and take a look and another drive. I was going to purchase this vehicle. I never heard from them. I called today (Monday) and I was told the truck was sold. I sure hope they fixed the leak or the next owner will be very upset. Beware that they won't get back to you even if they say they will. It wasn't meant for me and I won't go back to this dealership because of this experience.

It's a good thing I didn't buy with them, because I found the right car for me at D&S. They were able to work around my credit and give me the best deal. They are very friendly and down to earth.

There was no way to control the radio, suspension, etc. There was no way of knowing if the cd player worked. We traveled for three (3) hours to purchase the 2008 Audi A8L. There was damage to the paint on the hood that does not show up in any pictures on their site. I was very disappointed in the integrity of the salesperson and the condition of the vehicle.

Can't give 0 Stars. Should have known when it took 2 weeks for them to inspect the car it was a bad decision. Was told that the headlights were replaced which is why it took so long. After 30 days, headlights go out and I'm now told $5k to fix, due to the rigged up job. Dealership told me that vehicle should have never passed inspection. Have left voicemails with no call backs. That was just the most recent thing. After owning the car for 2 days the timing chain broke. Gave that a pass of just bad luck. But similar, no call back from dealer. This place is selling cars they have no intention on standing behind. BEWARE!!!
