SHAME ON YOUNG SUBARU! - NatalieKay286
SHAME ON YOUNG SUBARU!! I am devistated at how i have been treated. In 2020, I purchased a 2018 Subaru Outback. I was in a near fatal car accident in 2017, and used the majority of the SSDI I received, to purchase it. I had always wanted a Subaru, and after a near fatal accident in which I fractured my neck and spine, safety of a vehicle was very important to me. I literally cried when i bought it. Ive transported rescue animals in my car, and gone on some great adventures
This would be the car I would drive forever, and the first car that I have actually followed all of the maintenance recommendations and requirements according to Subaru. I bought the vehicle with a 80k mile warranty, and in March 2023, with 6k miles left before my warranty expired, I brought my car to the Young Subaru dealership in Ogden, UT service department to have them check it over and make sure nothing needed to be fixed. They ended up telling me that my car needed a full replacement of the oil gasket system (which was a $3600 repair), that it would take several days to do the repairs, and that they did not have a loaner car. So I inconvenienced my parents by having to borrow thier vehicle until the dealership was done with the repairs. I'm a single mom with a 12yr old autistic son, who lives in a small town, about 35 minutes away from family. I have to have a vehicle to transport my son to behavior therapy 5 days week, as well as a vehicle to go to the grocery store, ect.
I picked up my car about a week later, and assumed everything was fixed and I wouldn't have to worry about my car having any further repairs in the near future.
Well...two months later, I start to smell oil burning, and notice my car is leaking alot of oil. So I bring it back to Young Subaru in Ogden UT. I'm told that "oopsies, I guess we didn't fix it right the first time, so we are actually going to have to replace the entire oil gasket system again." They gave me a loaner car, which I had to drive for 6 weeks until they were able to fix my car.
Well...two months later, just last week, I start to smell oil burming again, and noticed my car is once again leaking oil in my driveway. So I bring it back to the Young Subaru service department in Ogden, Utah TO GET THE SAME EXACT THING REPAIRED FOR THE THIRD TIME IN 6 MONTHS. My warranty had expired, but I was told that these repairs were still covered under the original warranty, as well as the Young Subaru 1yr service warranty. So they give me a loaner car, a 2024 Outback wilderness edition. I received two calls from the service department, updating me on how the repairs were going, which I have saved on my voice-mai.
Two days ago, a semi truck was in front of me, and it flicked a rock and made a small Crack in the windshield. I called the dealership, and this is what I was told:
I was able to get the quote this morning for the loaner windshield. I have a break down for you as followed:
Labor: $175.00
Eyesight: $200.00
Shop: $36.00
Part: $741.61
Total: $ 1,152.61
This total amount will be due upon drop off of the loaner vehicle. We do not bill insurances for any glass damage as stated when the loaner was picked up and the agreement open.
You may seek reimbursement through your insurance company if you chose to do so.

I received a voicemail yesterday from the service department, stating they were finishing up the repairs, and were going to test drive my vehicle to make sure nothing else was leaking.
Then today I received this text:
Hello Natalie, we've had some problems with having a tech available to work on your car. I do have a new technician assigned to your car and should start working on it again on Wednesday. I appreciate your patience.
So I guess those updates on my vehicle were kinda xxxxxxxx. So what do I walk away with? A messed up car with $12,000 of repairs done in the last 6 months, a bill for 1100 bucks to fix a chip in the windshield.
