I originally purchased my 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy from a dealership in Virginia. Having moved to the Chattanooga area last year, I opted to have my vehicle serviced by Long. While I was initially confused by having to drive to the Long Volvo dealership, I soon was met by Richard in the service department. It seems that I needed a unit that regulated certain functions that prompted a "Check Engine" warning. Richard reassured me that I could continue to operate the car without danger. The part needed was ordered and an appointment scheduled when it came in. As my wife and I only own one car, I elected to stay during the changeover. I was cautioned the repair would take several hours. As I had a book and some time, I also took the opportunity have a 36K mileage service done. Richard told me that would add an additional 2 hours time frame.
The four hours passed quickly. I noted the waiting area had popcorn and water available so I did not go hungry or thirsty.
Almost exactly at the four hour mark, Richard came back to me and started to apologize for the delay. I told him that there was no delay as he sated the time needed for all the work. Think about this for a minute. How many times has a service department delivered on their own promise anywhere? Long Hyundai did! And as far as I am concerned, I will always try to ask for Richard when scheduling my vehicle for service. Thank you, Long Hyundai and thank you, Richard. You are a credit to your employer!
