I've bought a lot of vehicles in my lifetime...more than 30. I'd call myself an "expert" at doing car deals. I'm realistic and don't come in trying to low ball a dealer...profit is not a dirty word. That said, I'm not a sucker that gets taken advantage of either. My experience with Nelson Mazda Cool Springs was a bit different than I'm used to. I sat down with the salesperson and they pulled up the vehicle I was interested in purchasing. We went over the numbers. I was not sure that the deal I was offered was the best deal I could get, and with their "no haggle" pricing, it was a "take it or leave it" proposition, so I left. I did my due diligence by trying to work a deal on the same vehicle at two other Mazda dealers. Both were within about $200 of each other but neither was as good a deal as Nelson Mazda had pitched me. So I went back, ate some crow, and accepted their offer. I'm a haggler. An old school car buyer that expects to start discussing pricing at dealer invoice, work deals on cars that have sat on the lot for a long period of time, etc. None of that was necessary at Nelson. While they didn't "discount" the new car, they did show an over allowance on my trade which more than made up for it. I'm an "out the door" buyer, so where the numbers come from don't matter to me as long as the bottom number is one I can accept. Everyone was very friendly and I really appreciated sitting at the table with the salesperson as they worked the numbers. No "let me go see my sales manager" mumbo jumbo. Just a straight forward deal, a decent interest rate (given current rates), and a friendly staff. If you are a novice car buyer, or just don't like the rush of a good haggling session that can last days or weeks, take your business to Nelson Mazda. They really do make it easy.

Looking to buy a Mazda. Met with a salesperson who said he was not knowledgeable about Mazda because he mostly sold Hyundai. Short test drive and salesperson could not answer basic questions. Told me the price of the car and said no negotiations. No salesmanship, who trained this guy. I was completely turned off by the attitude and incompetency of the salesperson. There were at least 8 other salespeople standing around watching us, doing nothing. The dealership was empty on a Saturday morning. Are they going to stay in business? I went with my gut and walked away. I looked today at the Epperson Mazda website. The salesperson I dealt with is no longer there. I wonder what their turnover rate is at this dealership? I like to deal with professional organizations. BTW, their lobby was filthy. Response to owner. You have no idea of the facts. I did not grab a salesman. He told me he sold both Hyundai's and Mazda's but was most familiar with Hyundai's. He represented himself as a person who was my assigned salesperson. The salesperson I mentioned was listed on your website. The salesperson is no longer listed on your website. You do not know the salesperson I interacted. You are making false assumptions. I actually wrote to your Mazda Sales manager a much more detailed account of my experience. I never received a reply. You seem very defensive in your reply without know any specific facts. How do you know the salesperson was new. How was I to know he was new. Is it my job as a potential customer to do due diligence on your salespeople. I did not choose the sales person. I think I was in his rotation. Your reply is very offensive. Your sales managers reply was not-existent. Because of your reply, I will now take the time to escalate the matter to Mazda USA and other social media with much more detail and facts to follow. I have names and dates and copies of my correspondence to your Sales Manager. Your response seem desperate. I am a retired business professional who knows the proper channels to make others aware of your attitude and response. Always get your facts right before emotionally responding and personally attacking someone. You have just exposed yourself as being very unprofessional and inept. Your response will also be forwarded to Mazda USA.

Mazda Miata battery - TGS1955

I have a 97 miata that I purchased used, No one has touched this car in 11 years except Bill Gatton Mazda. I purchased a battery which is still under warranty. The battery is totally dead. They will not test/charge the battery without the vehicle and I cannot get the vehicle there without a battery. Their solution was to have the vehicle towed in at my expense.

Liar's and thieve's! Biggest Con lot on Alcoa Hwy! After our purchase we realized there was several thing's wrong with the vehicle. We were promised a warranty upgrade and Twin City would eat the cost. Preston Freytag straight up lied to us. When we experienced yet another issue with the vehicle, we contacted them to see about getting it fixed and was made aware that our warranty had not been upgraded and now they refuse to make good on there word. Preston Freytag is the head liar and thief over at Twin City and I caution everyone about ever giving this Con lot your business. They don't go through their vehicle's as you would expect, they littetally buy them at auction and throw them on the lot. At best, they might get their oil changed. Stay away from Twin City, unless you enjoy getting ripped off!

Trade-in rating person either 1. Has no idea what he/she/it is doing or 2. Was just plain lying or 3. Was part of a plan to make us leave. Now your company can "apologize" and "resolve issues" as you wish after calling me and getting an ear full. We are a previous Mazda family and as we were previously treated extremely well by Mazda AND the car we had, we really wanted a Mazda CX-50. We are now "turned off" to Mazda. I don't believe we will be back to your dealership and not to Mazda either (even as much as I used to admire the brand). There are sure a LOT of cars for sale in your lot ... I don't wonder why.

WARNING! This dealership sells damaged vehicles without letting you know. My son purchased a 2016 Audi SQ5 in 2019. Told the car was worth $36K and he was getting a great deal at $32K. After driving a few months, he realized something was drastically wrong as the front tires wore down from near new to bald. The Audi dealer confirmed that the front end was bent and would cost $6000 to try to repair. They said the car was likely worth around $17K because of the damage. We both talked to the dealer who said, "they would make this right," but after 4 months of doing nothing, they now say there is nothing they can do. This dealership CANNOT BE TRUSTED!

2 Months after deal closed my trade in remains unpaid. A 10 point hit on my credit report and overstated monthly payment $ for a loan that should have been paid weeks ago. DON'T Trade in with this dealer They will steal from you and damage your credit without concern. Worst experience in Mazda purchase of several I've made by far.
