Oil change to jury trial - 2014WRX

Simple oil change turned to new engine. After having a service performed on my vehicle that went wrong, my vehicle now has a new engine. When contacting Baker after failure, it was their position not to take responsibility for the issue that was deemed a direct result of their work. After consulting with a lawyer and making an attempt to resolve the issue, a court case was filed. It was a lengthy process that saw them utilize 2 defense firms and have their GM and service director directly involved with the case. At the conclusion of the trial a jury found against Baker and in my favor, faulting them with the issue and awarding funds for repair. Baker Buick GMC Cadillac and Baker Motor Company’s reluctance to right a wrong done in their service department is unbelievable and unfortunate. A company that has a reputation around Charleston of class and excellence to treat a customer in this way and not back their work and shortcomings. Very disappointed in the conduct of the management team at this location, could’ve been handled in a much better way.

I recently brought my 2021 Mercedes GLE 350 into Baker to have it serviced and I was SUPER impressed with the service I received from my new service advisor, Ricky! So impressed that I knew I needed to jump on here and write it publicly! Ricky was incredibly friendly and professional, answered ALL of my questions (and I had A LOT), texted me with updates as my car was being serviced, chatted with me after the service to explain what all was done and helped explain when to schedule future services! I left feeling like I had an advocate in the service department, which was SUCH a nice feeling! Ricky, thank you for your excellent service! Baker did a great thing when they hired you!

We had a problem with dead battery and noticed back ceiling lights not going off in our Lincoln. They installed new battery, but also kept car for days, giving loaner to determine light issue so we wouldn’t have dead battery issue again. Charity Murphy was great, even followed up with call days after picked car up and didn’t overcharge us. Charity has restored our trust in using dealership repairs. We are confident in Beach Automotive’a integrity to only making necessary repairs and not overcharging.

Chris service advisor is very helpful and went out of his way to ensure my 16 year old daughters car was serviced correctly. Parts from ford came in and 1 of them was wrong due 2 boxed error from the factory. Mike the service tech caught the error when the correct part arrived double checked the car and ensured everything was safe with no issues after he test driven it. Chris even went out of his way and personally drove the car to my house on his break while I was out of town to make sure my daughter has her car. He is what customer service is all about. Thank you very much Chris, Mike and Berkeley Ford for all your help.

My 7 yr old BMW suddenly developed serious brake problems: terrible grating noise every time I applied the brakes. I called the local BMW dealership (2199 David McLeod Blvd) who had serviced my car several times before, indicating that my car was not safely driveable, and was told they could not schedule me for an appointment for another SIX DAYS! Just think about that: the flagship dealership for a premium car brand is not able to even look at a car of their brand that has a serious problem rendering it undriveable (we're not talking about regular maintenance) for SIX days. I love my Beamer, but will not deal with these people again. Went to Woodales instead. Highly recommend.
