DON'T BELIEVE THE BULL - dunny281
My experience with Al Smith Dealership has to be the absolute worse I have ever dealt with. The amount of lies and xxxxxxxx I was fed was unreal. Let’s start with my initial concern with the car. If I wasn’t so in need of a vehicle I never would of bought the car as it had a check engine light on and made a rumbling noise when driving. The reason I bought it was because I was assured it would be fixed, to cut to the chase it never was. First I was told that the rumbling was just road noise or a “split wheel” me being an idiot believed this nonsense after they had one of their techs double check to make sure there were not any problems and we could schedule a visit to get the repairs done. This was fine by me as like I said they were going to fix the issue. The people I worked with Jamie and Melissa seemed like trustworthy people I soon found out like pretty much every other dealership they were just a bunch of snakes. The moment I get home I realize the car remote start does not work and neither does the usb port on top of all the other repairs the car needed. Of course I call the dealership and am run a bunch of xxxxxxxx by Melissa about her paying for it out of her own pocket it blah blah blah. No just fix the problem, the car was advertised with these items they need to be fixed. So finally I come back to the dealership for my appointment to fix the problems I knew about and then the others I found out about soon after buying the vehicle. TRIP 1: I arrive for an appointment ( that I had to take day off work to go to) I sat there for two hours, when I decide to get up and ask what's going on. My car was not even in the garage yet! I had an appointment, why was my car not in the garage. They tell me it will just be another 20 minutes. The head of service department gets back to me an hour later to tell me they did a diagnostic and what was wrong with the car which I already knew because I was told this when I bought the car. They then inform me they dont have the part they need. They are willing to work on the price with me for the long wait I had. UMM no this is all covered I was assured this when I bought the car and why the xxxx am I here if you don't have my part. They tell me I have to schedule a second appointment after the part comes in… and they will call me when it is. A few weeks later I get the call the part is in I get an appointment the next week. Go into the garage sit there for an hour...not making the same mistake as last time I go check in, am told they are looking at it right now. AGAIN I am told the issues like I haven't been told a million times already. I said yes that's why I have an appointment I am told unfortunately the part is not there I say this is impossible as I was called and specifically told that it arrived. They apologize and after another 15 minutes they magically find this missing part. An hour later it is “fixed” I get in the car and can see immediately the check engine light is still on and the usb port is still broken. Of course I am not driving it anywhere. They finally tell me they are giving me a loaner and they'll call when it is all done. When I arrive a week or so later it is apparently fixed and now the remote start should also start. OF COURSE it does not. Im sitting there another 45 minutes of them discussing IF they should fix it when finally someone showed them the correct way to use it. Im irritated and will never ever deal with their service department but otherwise i'll get over it. Jump ahead three months….the rumbling noise….the road noise….the “split wheel” I was assured of still have no idea what that even means besides xxxxxxxx. Well brake light comes on it's december and I have to put off getting it fixed. Right before we travel my husband and I decide we better get it fixed. Turns out the wheel bearings were so bad the technician said I was lucky my wheel did not fall off. They had been bad for quite some time so the rumbling noise all along that was the wheel bearing, Jamie had actually mentioned this when I bought the car which is why the so called tech was “checking it out” . I was livid! Well Jamie's last words to me were if I was not happy to make sure to let him know. So you best believe that I did. I was told I would hear back after christmas. Didn’t hear back had to ask what was going on….a MONTH LATER. Finally was told I would get a check to cover the cost of the wheel bearings. After all this I thought well at least they are making things right. Let me just end this rant by saying that after all this being lied to about making things right pissed me off the most out of everything! So let me assure you these people are con artist. Yes they make you feel like your a priority but that's just to get your money. They dont give a xxxx about the customer.
