I'm not sure what is happening with the Service - dclpretzel
I'm not sure what is happening with the Service Department at Patriot Subaru in Saco. I have been a faithful, consistent customer of Patriot Service since I purchased my Impreza in 2017. I have brought my vehicle in for oil changes and
required maintenance every 6 months. In 2024, my vehicle was serviced 4 times in 6 months. The first visit (January, 2024)was for an oil change when they noted I needed new front brakes, RF control arm, and RUB bushing for approx. $1100. They completed the work one week later (visit #2, also January 2024). Three months later, (visit #3, April, 2024) I brought my vehicle back to check the rear brakes which had just been replaced 2 years prior - they completed the work and offered a discount. At this time, they also did a multipoint inspection which included checking "tire wear and underbody inspection." Nothing was noted needing repair with the multipoint inspection. Visit #4, July, 2024, within this 6 month period was for a scheduled routine oil change and Maine state inspection. Since I had incurred some medical issues, my car was only driven 448 miles since the Patriot multipoint inspection was done in April. I was expecting an easy pass on the Maine state inspection. I was shocked when the service rep told me my car failed the state inspection and needed $4000 worth of work to pass.(Tires, front and rear struts, LF control arm) I gave permission for the routine oil change and sought out a second opinion for the supposed need for $4000 worth of work. The second opinion agreed I needed new tires but that was all. The bill was $769 for new tires and the inspection. I then went for a tire alignment to a regional service center. I requested that they check the front and rear struts. They confirmed what the second opinion had stated - no need to replace struts. I am very disappointed with Patriot Service. I was totally blindsided by a multipoint inspection in April that did not note tire wear or questionable "underbody inspection" then less than 3 months later and only 448 miles later I am told I needed $4000 worth of work.
