I was attending my biennial workshop in Valparaiso, and on a free day excursion my brake pads suddenly became an issue. I have always seen Team Honda on my drive in to Valpo and wanted to stop by to have my annual check up and other details, to take advantage of my time in the area.
Full disclosure: I've always been hesitant and outright resistant about car help (original dealerships, Midas, et. al.) simply because while my 2003 Element is in pretty good condition even at 106K miles, but there *always* seems to be problems that are discovered and which end up costing me lots of money.
I had no choice on Thursday July 6, 2023. Tyler took my call, and asked me to get the car in as soon as possible so an estimate could be done.
On my arrival around 11:45 a.m., I explained how it was my penultimate day in the area, I had to return to Chicago the next day (Friday morning) and still had to take others to O'Hare and Midway airports! Time was of the essence. I got a text message report a few hours later showing what had to be done, which parts had to be obtained.
Tyler was exceptionally professional, courteous, and forthright about costs as the situation became known. With my ok of the job, he went OUT OF HIS WAY to fulfill the job. He said it could be ready by Friday noon, but by Thursday evening he and his team obtained the needed parts and - because I happened to catch the service center as it was caught up with work - was able to finish it by 7 p.m., ready for pick-up the next morning as early as opening time! Underpromised: over-delivered!!!
I was so relieved and absolutely delighted with the service done by Team Honda Service Center! Being away from home and having a mechanical matter and time constraints could have really been stressful. But Tyler and Team Honda really came through.
PLEASE KNOW OF MY HIGHEST POSSIBLE PRAISE AND THANKS FOR TYLER BROWN AND HIS TEAM! They were absolutely great, and justify my trust in Honda to begin with.
I hope Tyler and his team get the proper recognition and appreciation for upholding the Honda product and service reputation we not only expect, but rely upon!
