We have used this dealership for several years because of the excellent service department. We weren't looking for a new truck but we found the perfect one for us. The entire buying experience was great and for the first time in our lives, it was stress free. Our salesman was very knowledgable and answered every question we had. Hello, all! If you're reading these reviews, I bet you're probably in the market for a new vehicle. Well, I'm not here to tell you if Gates is the place for your new purchase, but I am quite prepared to say you should never try to get a vehicle serviced at this dealership! I came to Gate and attempted to have my low-mileage, under-warranty vehicle diagnosed for a knocking sound. After a 2.5 hour wait (was told 1 hour, and watched another customer enter, get service, a loaner, and leave before me) a serviceman approached me and outright refused to diagnose the issue, stating their refusal was due to 'snow on the ground', and that I should come back when it's nicer outside. Seriously! As soon as I left their service center and hit the road at 20mph, the knocking was CLEARLY audible! After calling the service center to set a date and time *they* find appropriate, and not being given one, I requested to speak to the floor manager. The gentleman I spoke to was very pleasant and helpful, but said he could not arrange a diagnostic until the following week, which I found unacceptable. I'm sure their salesman are quite genial and the deals superb, but I would suggest staying away from their service center: they seem selective about who they want to serve and who they do not.

i have a 2005 chevy silverado 2500LT 4x4 that i love very much. i have had issues with rust at the bottom of all the doors. each time i took my truck to Salem autobody super center that Jeff or Johnny always were very friendly and professional to me, and made me feel more than just a customer. each time the work was impeccable and done with professionalism. the last incident in November 2011 the left rear door had to be replaced and the job that was done matching the paint on a 5 year old truck was perfect, job was done in a very timely manner, and i believe Mr. Jones has done a very good job by having Jeff and Johnny handling the autobody super center. also here in October i had explained to them that their service manager in Corydon had been very rude and was not willing to take care of me with a speedometer problem, which actually had a previous recall, and was told their was nothing he could do to help. Jeff from the autobody super center advise me to speak with the service manager at Salem super center, and the issue with the speedometer was taken care with Chevrolet paying for parts, and me paying the labor which was a very fair arrangement. i met two wonderful service advisors in Salem, Don Skaggs, and Monty Ball. Upon taking care of the speedometer, they performed a 27 point inspection and it was found that there were some agressive issues that needed to be addressed immediately. Monty had quoted all the parts and labor to an exact dollar amount for all of the repairs to be completed, giving me a very fair quote. I set up an appointment and took in my truck and had the work completed. Which Ricky, one of the service techs., did an outstanding job on the repairs. After completion of the repairs, Salem employees were kind enough to wash my truck for free, and I will definitely be returning to have additional service work completed in the near future. I also want to personally thank Bob Hunt, service manager, for his assistance in making sure that the repairs were completed correctly and promptly, and as a former mechanic I have dealt with many dealerships and found that this dealership goes above and beyond to make sure their customers are completed satisfied. I have purchased 3 new vehicles from John Jones, and in the near future I will be purchasing another from them. All my service work will continue to be completed by the Salem service center. Jackson Carpenter is AWESOME!! In order to take care of a customer he goes over and above. In fact he needs a RAISE!. You want to make sure he is happy and stay with you. The best service I have ever had from a Dealership. I used to go to another dealership and had trouble every time I had our vehicles worked on. I went to John Jones Scottsburg and everyone is super nice and helpful. Like I said if you want to be treated right go to John Jones Scottsburg!

Mine was a horrible experience, bad customer service-they actually didn't care that my car would be out of service sitting in their "bay" for 3-4 weeks. As if most people don't depend on their automobile to make a living. If I had an accident they would have "offered me a discount car rental fee" Evidentally others are not as important. Go somewhere else, please.
