THIS DEALERSHIP/SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS A SCAM!!!
I went in for a tire rotation which should have taken no longer than an hour. I waited 3.5 - 4 hours in the waiting area to get my car back. They said I needed brake pads on the front & rear and that it's in the "red" and I only had 3mm left of wear on them now. I declined service as it would have cost me at least $800 to have them fix it. I was going to price out my options first. I had also waited long enough and my day was already wasted. I had other errands that needed to be done.
I found a mechanic who could do the brake pad replacement cheaper and took it in the following week to have done. He looked over the car and said the brake pads looked brand new and there wasn't much wear to them. He held up the new brake pad next to the old to show us the comparison and he was right, barely an wear at all. This mechanic also used to work at Gary Smith Honda and confirmed that they will try and sell you anything your car doesn't need just to gain a profit. If you go in for one issue they will try and upsell something else to get more money out of you.
They will always try and sell you a fluids flush/refill on all fluids, spark plug replacements, brake pad replacements, & air filters before your car even enters the service bay and put on the lift.
Gary Smith Honda doesn't care about anything other than making a profit and getting a large bonus check at the end of the year. Their Customer Service is greatly lacking. I am concerned that they aren't even looking over the car for legit needs. If they give you a list of services your car "needs" get a second opinion always! You are probably getting scammed as well!
