I had a truly excellent experience at CarMax Stockton, and what stood out most was the customer service, teamwork, and lack of pressure throughout the entire process.
From the moment you walk in, everything is coordinated through the front desk, where you’re smoothly connected with a member of the sales team. I worked with more than one salesperson, and what I really appreciated is that they don’t compete with each other for sales. Instead, they work as a team, which creates a relaxed, comfortable, and genuinely supportive environment. There was absolutely no pressure at any point.
I also loved how easy it was to have cars shipped to the Stockton location, which is exactly what I did in order to purchase my 2025 low-mileage XSE Prius Plug-In Hybrid. The process was straightforward and stress-free.
I want to especially acknowledge the behind-the-scenes service technicians, who were a big part of my overall satisfaction. They helped set up my Bluetooth, explained the universal garage door opener, and made sure I felt confident with the technology in my car.
When I returned with a few questions—my Apple CarPlay was acting up, and I wasn’t fully understanding the EV-to-gas mileage calibrations—AJ checked me in and made sure I got the help I needed. It was also great to see women working in strong, visible roles at this location. Izzy took the time to go on a test drive with me and helped make everything clear and practical. To top it off, my car was washed and gassed up before being returned to me.
While I personally prefer the Stockton location because of this outstanding experience, I should mention that my friend Rainy went on to purchase a black-and-white Mini Cooper from the Berkeley CarMax after seeing my car and hearing about my purchase—so clearly the CarMax experience travels well.
