Bear with me, a lot went wrong… Bought a mini Cooper back in August. Before making my decision to buy, I asked if the sunshade could be repaired and was told absolutely, not a problem. My previous car w back in August. Before making my decision to buy, I asked if the sunshade could be repaired and was told absolutely, not a problem. My previous car was a convertible so this was important to me. Got a quote from my credit union on an interest rate and called Ideal to see if they could match or beat it and they said yes, and they wanted me to come in that day because their financial manager was going out of town. We sat down with a different sales associate than the one we’d test drove with, there was all this nonsense about added on packages ($3000 extra) that we were made to feel like were optional except they were already on the car and we actually didn’t have a choice. I said I wasn’t paying for that and then the financial manager came over, said he could cut the package price in half because if they didn’t make “X” amount of money on the car then the team didn’t get paid. Again, I asked about the sunshade repair and again was told it would be taken care of, I just needed to set up a time to bring it back in. I brought the car back, dropped it off, and several hours later got the call that the part needed for the repair was too costly through MINI and that they were going to try and buy the part elsewhere and then take it back to MINI. My previous car was a Mini Cooper, I knew that parts can be costly, and that sometimes buying parts elsewhere isn’t a bad ideal. Kept checking back on the status and still no part to be found. Over 2 months goes by and I’d still not heard an update on the part, nor had I received my car tag and registration so I reach out again (3rd time), and the ENTIRE team had been fired. Not just those helping me with my purchase, Everyone. A new team is there cleaning up whatever mess was left from before, so hopefully they’ll clean up my situation as well. I mean, why not? They are there doing damage control and need to turn a new leaf. So far, I’ve called this new team 7 times, seeking not only the sun shade repair, but also my car tags. I’ve been told they would mail me a temporary paper tag since mine expired Nov 18th, and they didn’t. I was told once again, that they’d look into the sunshade repair but have yet to get a clear answer back. I was told that the previous team lied to me about them not getting paid unless they make “X” amount on a car, new team player even went so far as to use the word ‘Fraud’, but I have still, after 3 months, several emails, 12 phone calls (and counting), have not been helped. And supposedly, they didn’t send a new paper tag in the mail but instead decided that the real tag was on its way and should get to me soon… But really, who is to say? If you value transparency, follow-through, and decency, I wouldn’t recommend purchasing from any Ideal Auto. More
Thinking of buying a car in Los Angeles? Look elsewhere. We drove over 5 hours to pick up a Porsche Cayenne from a so-called “deal” worked out with this dealership and our credit union. The Look elsewhere. We drove over 5 hours to pick up a Porsche Cayenne from a so-called “deal” worked out with this dealership and our credit union. The day before, “Tony” told us the battery was dead but would be replaced. After a long drive and an overnight stay, we got a midnight text that the starter was also an issue, and they’d raise the price. The manager was disrespectful, yelling at my husband, refusing to answer questions, and ultimately kicking us out. The cars on the lot were filthy, and the whole experience was beyond unprofessional. Save yourself time and frustration; this Los Angeles dealership doesn’t care about customer service or honesty. More
