Just to let you know what we've done w/ Elhart - bought an Altima, traded that Altima in for a Maxima; leased a GMC Canyon from them; was going to tra Just to let you know what we've done w/ Elhart - bought an Altima, traded that Altima in for a Maxima; leased a GMC Canyon from them; was going to trade the Maxima in for a Murano. Fair value of the Maxima was about $26,000; specifically told them to not screw me on the trade-in value; they came back w/ $20,300. Went to Gezon in GR; they offered me $23,500 and listed it for sale for just over $26,000 (and the cost of the new Murano was almost exactly the same). So, after making money on my original Altima purchase, the trade-in of the Altima, the purchase of the Maxima and the lease of the Canyon, they still felt they needed to offer my probably less than $6,000 than they would have sold my Maxima for. Sorry, that's a greedy dealer in my book - especially when Gezon offered $3,200 more w/out me saying a word about it. And I obviously emailed the salesman; he responded w/ "sorry, out of my hands, that's up to the used car manager". I encouraged him to relay my feelings to his boss, etc. and I wrote an email to the person who sends you a "how did things go?" email - I received no response other than the salesman's. The salesman was fine but looks to me like they have a culture of getting as much money as they think they can get away with while they have an arm around your back and a smile on their face. Do your homework first! - very easy to get prices on the internet these days. More
