My adult daughter had an oil leak "fixed" a few days ago. Dealership stated it was just a cracked drain plug. They fixed it and did an oil change. The last oil change was done at this dealership in Oc ago. Dealership stated it was just a cracked drain plug. They fixed it and did an oil change. The last oil change was done at this dealership in Oct 2022. The next day the vehicle continued to leak oil. She brought the vehicle back in and the dealership stated it was due to an after market oil plug that "cracked" the oil pan. The vehicle had the same plug in 2022. They worked on it the day before and "did not know" it was an after market oil plug? Recall they had changed to oil six months ago. And after fixing it the prior day did not know the oil pan was broken? This story does not hold together in my mind. Of note this vehicle has been mostly in storage / lightly driven for the past six months, In the end the dealership did not charge my daughter labor but forced her to pay for oil pan. Back in November 2022 our 2 year old vehicle blew the motor. While Hyundai and not Elhart is to blame for that when we had it towed in to get it looked at the customer service was absolutely horrible. We motor. We needed to get a loaner vehicle figured out so my wife could get to and from work. When we went in to the Hyundai side of the dealership nobody including the managers could be bothered to look up from their phones for more than a few seconds to even try to help. They sounded annoyed they we were there and just told us what they thought we wanted to hear to get us to leave. Michelle in the rental department who was in on her day off was the only person that was honest with us about what to expect with this whole ordeal. The service department wasn’t any better and we ended up have to take time off work to go in and get it figured out. I spend almost an hour on the phone with the service manager and all he would do is say they can’t do anything and try to get me off the phone. Only after I wouldn’t just take no for an answers they finally were able to get a loaner car figured out. They said that the new motor wouldn’t be in until the middle of January which again isn’t fault of Elhart but when the middle of January came around I left at least one if not a couple voicemails everyday for two weeks and never got a call back. It wasn’t until a few weeks and more annoyed voicemails later that I finally got a call back that they don’t know when the motor will be in. Which is a Hyundai problem not an Elhart problem. When the motor did finally come in almost 5 months after the original issue it only took three days to get the car back. After this experience I will never get another car from or have anything to do with Elhart Auto Campus. I will take the car an extra 45 minutes to Grand Rapids to get any work done on it. More
