I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the service received on my last visit. I had some squeaky brakes and needed an oil change so I was fully expecting a lengthy stay in the customer lounge followe received on my last visit. I had some squeaky brakes and needed an oil change so I was fully expecting a lengthy stay in the customer lounge followed by a hefty bill. However about 30 minutes into my wait the service tech appeared in the lounge. I’ve been into enough customer lounges to know that seeing the service tech show up that early is not a good sign. It was now time for the bad news. However it was a very nice surprise. He said the job was done. Oil changed and no problem found with the brakes or rotors. Just some glazing he noted. I certainly apologize for thinking that my first inclination was that I was going to get taken advantage of. I’ve been licensed to drive for over 55 years and have unscrupulous repair shops tell me things were broken and urgently needed fixing. Unfortunately many of these shops were taking advantage of me charging for things that were neither broken or in need of repair. Elhart had that opportunity the day of my appointment. They could have told me I needed new rotors and brake pads plus a variety other things they could have dreamed up. Many if not most seniors could not or would not challenge the repair verdict and go ahead an authorize the repair. But Elhart standards and employee training has embedded a level of honesty and forthrightness that all dealerships and repair shops should follow. My service tech said he didn’t think I needed any brake or rotors work done at this time and my car would be safe for my upcoming trip to Florida. He could have kept me there the rest of the day ... but because of his training and personal honesty he didn’t. Thank you. It feels good to trust.
