We have recently been exclusively asking for Peter because we know he will take care of our auto problems. He has not disappointed us.Because of people like Peter we will keep going back to Grossinger. Tom Harrington did a great job of taking care of a couple of problems with my 2006 Buick LaCrosse. It was nice to work with a person who is familiar with me, and what needed to be done with my car. McCormick Boulevard Lincolnwood, IL 60712 Dear Caroline: On behalf of the children and teens, families, Board and staff of Have Dreams, I want to extend our deep gratitude for the very generous in-kind donation of a Toyota Sienna van for use by our organization during the summer. This van is a critical component of our Summer Transition Program, as it provides transportation for our participants between the various work, community, and leisure destinations that comprise this program. This much-needed program could not have taken place without an appropriate vehicle to transport our participants. Please express our appreciation as well, to the wonderful staff at Grossinger that forwarded our request to you and managed the details involved in procuring the van for pick-up in June. Craig Andrea, the first person we spoke to at Grossinger was most gracious in agreeing to meet with me when I visited the dealership, and then forwarding on our request to you directly. We are so thankful for his kind response and willingness to communicate our request to you and the dealership. Please also express our thanks to Ruby Mallorca and Jonathan Moscovitch who made the arrangements to secure this wonderful vehicle and coordinate its pick-up with our Have Dreams staff. Everyone at Grossinger has been so helpful and kind in making arrangements for use of the van. We are so glad to have Grossinger partner with us on this important program for teens and young adults with autism. The Have Dreams Summer Transition Program offers critical opportunities for individuals with autism to develop pre-vocational skills through customized job preparation and training experiences. This program, offered for eight weeks in the summer, Monday through Friday, also includes a social, community living component coupled with healthy-living activities in order to provide a foundation of functional adult living skills We cannot thank you enough Caroline, for your generosity in making this van available to our staff and participants this summer. The response to your very kind gesture has been overwhelming. Grace Santiler Nowik, the wife of Have Dreams Board President Joe Nowik, and owner of Hair Base Salon, the salon that Laurie goes to, is going to personally express her appreciation to Laurie as well for the support provided by Grossinger. I am so pleased that this vehicle is helping to promote your wonderful dealership, of which my family has been loyal customers of for a number of years. Please find enclosed a photo of our Have Dreams participants proudly standing by the Grossinger van. The teens pictured here have just launched a Car Wash located in Park Ridge that they are staffing, marketing, and maintaining throughout the summer as part of our Transition Program. This new business venture for Have Dreams will provide our participants with first-hand job experiences as a foundation for future job opportunities. I am also enclosing information on our Car Wash, and invite you and members of the Grossinger staff to visit our new business venture. I look forward to continue sharing with you how your generosity and that of the dealership is making a difference in the lives of the children, teens and families we serve. Sincerely, Bobbi Frazes Goldman Director of Development Have* Dreams (Helping Autistic Voices Emerge) 515 Busse Highway Suite 150 Park Ridge, IL 60068 More
Purchased a used Saturn ION. Drove it the two miles home that night. When we got out and closed the door the drivers mirror rattled loose. Clearly broken. Contacted Grossinger the next day. Salesman was that night. When we got out and closed the door the drivers mirror rattled loose. Clearly broken. Contacted Grossinger the next day. Salesman was short, curt, and simply transfered me to the Used Car Manager. He stated we drove the car off the lot so we owned the problem. He finally conceded to cover the mirror if it wasn't too costly. Driving to the shop for the new mirror we started hearing rattling noises underneath. After getting the new mirror I took it to my local mechanic. They discovered among other maintenance issues a cracked strut and suspension. So much for Grossinger's multi point inspection! If they fought about a 12 hour old broken mirror I know they'll deny any responsibility for all this. I'd rather drive the car into Lake Michigan than take it back to Grossinger Autoplex. This is gross negligence at the least and most likely fraud. How do they stay in business? Because suckers like me don't research properly until after we've been taken to the cleaners. More
***DON'T BUY YOUR CAR HERE!!! MANAGEMENT IS HORRIBLE, THEY'RE FULL OF LIES, AND THE WILL RIP YOU OFF. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MAKING THE SALE BUT IF THE CUSTOMER HAS ANY PROBLEMS AFTER, THERES NO HELP TO BE THEY'RE FULL OF LIES, AND THE WILL RIP YOU OFF. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MAKING THE SALE BUT IF THE CUSTOMER HAS ANY PROBLEMS AFTER, THERES NO HELP TO BE FOUND***** I went to buy a car at this place on October 19, 2008. When I first got to the dealer the salesperson, Gary, was really helpful in getting us approved for the truck that we wanted, which was a 2006 Nissan Murano. Since at first I wasn't able to be financed by myself because of my short credit history, he tried getting me financed with co-signers. After calling different banks for a few hours he said that it wasn't going to be done unless I put $1000 as down payment. The next day I went down to Lincolnwood from Chicago and gave $1000 down-payment, got approved, and signed the contract. However, the back windshield wiper was missing and Gary, the salesperson, had assured us that we were going to get it at no cost and he was going to order it that same day, the 20th. He said it would take about 3-4 days for it to arrive and that he would call us. He never called me, so I called Grossinger two weeks later and spoke to Tony in parts; he said that an order had never been placed by the salesperson and that I would have to go in to the dealer so that Parts could get the precise measurements to order the part. I went that afternoon to Grossinger and was on my way to the front desk when Gary, the salesperson spotted me and told me that the part was already there and that he just needed to get a check from the bank so the blade could be funded. He said he would call me in 2-3 days and he didn't. I called 3 days later to talk to the general manager Todd and he apologized for the sales person's acts and said that he was personally going to order it for me. He said he would call me in 2-3 days and he still didn't!!!! So now I have another problem, I traded in a Chrysler Sebring 2004 when I bought the Nissan in October. I called Grossinger and spoke to Margaret from the Pay off department on Nov. 19, 2008 and asked if the trade-in had been paid off already, she said that she had just received the check and she was paying it off that same Monday. Well today is Nov. 20, 2008 and IT STILL HASN'T BEEN PAID OFF AFTER 1 MONTH. Yesterday I noticed a charge from the bank that I had financed the Sebring with. I got charged the monthly payment of $282.31 which caused an overdraft on my checking account. I left a message yesterday and she still hasn't called me today. I keep on calling her and she doesn't answer the phone. Nobody at Grossinger seems to be able to help me so I don't know what else to do. More
False advertisement. Stated on the internet to bring in advertisement off of autotrader and receive $100 of vehicle. Didn't happen. Didn't get real value for trade-in. Now vehicle is selling for twice the advertisement off of autotrader and receive $100 of vehicle. Didn't happen. Didn't get real value for trade-in. Now vehicle is selling for twice the trade-in value that I got. I was charged a $499 delivery fee for a used vehicle!! xxx!!! The vehicle I brought had cigarettes in the ashtray and wasn't even cleaned. Also I left with a quarter tank of gas. More
We Spent 3 hours looking at cars and negotiating what we believed to be the sales price of our car with Serita Ford. A lot of this time was spent sitting at her desk while she dissapeared for long periods believed to be the sales price of our car with Serita Ford. A lot of this time was spent sitting at her desk while she dissapeared for long periods of time. After we settled on what we believed to be the "price of the car" we were told that someone else had just purchased that car but we could get it in another color, we should have realized then that the sales manager Juan did'nt know what he was doing. We agreed to take it in white which we were told was available, after about another twenty minutes waiting and left alone we were informed that the car was not available and all they had was green and granite, we took the granite one. Now after another thirty minutes we were told they had no keys for this car but would have a set cut, meanwhile we were asked to take antoher seat and wait for the finance manager I should mentioin that we didnt want to finanace but were told we couldnt get any of the rebates if we didnt. We were about to leave after about another twenty to thirty minutes when Michael finnally called us into his office. We had now been here 4 and a half hours we were tired hungry and very aggravated they had made a mistake in the paper work and we asked to just come back in the morning and sign since the car wouldnt be available till then. He said no it would only take another minute to reprint them with correct price. My husband I saw the balance due to read 11,550 which is what we agreed on at this time we signed and wrote a check for 5000 and believed the price would come down to 6550 but they had actually already snuck the deposit into the figures before they actually got a check. I know I should never sign anything after all that stress and when I'm tired and need to get out of here after five hours. When We confronted Michael and Juan about the descrepency of 5000 they sat there and told us they dont negotiate "car prices only amounts to be finanaced", your adults you knew what you were doing they started talking to us like idiots a far cry from all the nice words before you sign anything. we had to come back the next day to get the car when I confronted Serita about the price she agreed it was for 11550 and said she would go talk to Juan she never came back so I went to look for her by her desk and now she told me she didint know what they do with the numbers up there. So in other words the sales people are negotiating prices of the car and the SALES MANAGER is only working finance amounts very very misleading and dishonest. After all this we waited another 2 hours for the keys to supposedly work in the car. The next employee we encountered was Mark the delivery manager he showed us some features of the car and then asked if there was any reason we would give them a bad review I explained why I would and he was going to inform the General Manager of how poorly we were treated. We finnaly left with our car, drove to the store next to the lot when we came out of the store our key would not unlock the door and why should it. We called Mark he drove over with a loaner car and said the problem would be resolved by monday. Of all the horror stories you have ever heard about car dealerships Grossingers Autoplex on McCormack Ave in Lincolnwood lives up to them and than some. If this review keeps even one person from entering that lot it was worth my time to post it. More
I went on the internet and viewed some cars. I went to this site at McCormick Blvd. I told them that I was an internet customer and that I was loking for Sargon Escho. I was directed to Naeem. When he loo this site at McCormick Blvd. I told them that I was an internet customer and that I was loking for Sargon Escho. I was directed to Naeem. When he looked on the computer the prices were higher, and I was told that the cars that I had seen had been sold. Prior to going in I had contacted my credit union on what auto I was interested in. I was shown a 2001 Corolla priced at approximately $13,000.00. My loan rep told me that the car was valued at $9,000.00 tops. I told the finance, business managers that I would see what my credit union had to say. I put a down payment on the vehicle and signed other papers. Later that night I checked the internet ads and the cars were still available. My major mistake was that I went to the wrong complex. I should have gone to the 7200 N. Cicero complex. What baffled me was the fact that when I mentioned the name of the person that I spoke to no one attempted to direct me to the appropriate perso. I went by the Mc Cormick complex in an attempt to get a refund, and quite naturally the 2 people that I neede to see "left early" I instructed Robert the pricing manager that I wanted my money back and that I was no longer interested in the car. I was put off until the beginning of the next week. They all utilize the same computer system. I saved the autos that I was interested in, and if one clicks on any of the auto complexes, the saved information is always on the page, no matter what Grossinger site clicked on. I was told that they do utilize the same computer link ups, they just have different managers. I am 100% sure that deception is the name of the game at this complex. More
