Went for a recall - was supposed to do a '40 pt' inspection which they never did. Missed about every bushing and suspension item was shot (steering rack was even leaking badly). Wanted to change a t inspection which they never did. Missed about every bushing and suspension item was shot (steering rack was even leaking badly). Wanted to change a timing belt for $1000 (was already done last May elsewhere for $140). They were more worried about their covid masks covering their noses than fixing a car so I took it to another dealer and had the needed service done. Have no interest in ever going here again. More
I am going to start with saying, I have used this service center frequently in the last 2 years, and the experience previously has been exceptional. However this visit in my opinion was poor. Reasons being: 1) I do oil change with Yark, and tire rotation with Costco. Costco during a tire rotation told me, one nut on right front wheel was cross threaded, and might break. It did break. I bought the car to yark, and they replaced the lug nut. When I took the car for next tire rotation to Costco, they again informed me that the nut on right front wheel (which Yark had last serviced) was cross threaded & might break, which it did. When I bought the car back to Yark, and explained this to the representative (Steve Shenefield), Steve's initial response pretty rudely was - "I dont get it". He asked my if Yark was paying for this repair, or if I was. I answered, "You tell me who is at fault here". Steve got the manager,who agreed that Yark will pay for repair. The part that irks me is, why be rude to the customer? Its not like I am crossthreading the lug nuts. I even offered to show the papers from Costco that state the lug nut broke, because the nuts were cross threaded, and Yark worked on the wheel. So....? 2) When I picked the car, I found the courtesy inspection report had everything checked green. I compared this report to the one done 5 months back which had shown a couple of big ticket items marked yellow (Which was previously explained to me as, will soon need to be addressed). When I bought the discrepancy to the attention of the representative, the manager told me, different technicians feel differently about the items on the inspection report & might mark it differently. I had hoped that there was some standardization that Subaru follows, where, when a item is marked as soon needing attention, 6 months later, its not marked as A OK. One report stresses me as needing to save money to address big ticket items, and then 5-6 months later, you tell, everything is fine? More

The biggest problem I have with the service is that they are not complete. They replaced my battery but did not reset my clock. I have problems setting it. I don't think it works properly. Yark service is on time, efficient ( sent text reminder) and very helpful,looked into doing some extras and gave me prices beforehand.
