Our Family has had leased fords for over 25 years. About 10 vehicles in total. Unfortunately, our current Fords will be our last and Bell Ford is to blame. On March 2019 we had a check engine light and 10 vehicles in total. Unfortunately, our current Fords will be our last and Bell Ford is to blame. On March 2019 we had a check engine light and the whole truck was shaky and underivable. We called Ford roadside assistance and they dispatched a tow truck That brought us to Bell Ford. This wasn’t our first time here; we’ve done oil changes in the past with them. After detailing the issues to the service manager, we requested a loaner. They told us they have no loaners available and since we got our ford at another dealership, we wouldn’t get loaner priority. A few days later we contacted Ford corporate and they told us we can rent a car and would be reimbursed $35 a day for a Ford rental. Bell didn’t bother telling us this and when we mentioned the rental they said “sure you can do that”. The reimbursement check came from Bell so I assume they didn’t tell us because they didn’t want to pay for a loaner. The check engine light was due to a misfire in cylinder 4. After 1 week, Bell said their mechanic wanted to check it again the next day because something didn’t seem correct. 2 days later they told us the truck was ready. They ultimately changed plugs and coils. They told me to use better gas even though we use premium brands like BP and Shell. Nevertheless, we marked this up as an issue with faulty fuel. On September 19th, 2 days before our road trip to upstate NY, the check engine light returned. When taking the truck back to Bell, they asked if we had an appointment. We didn’t as this issue appeared overnight. Bell said with no appointment they couldn’t take us until the 1st or 2nd week of October. That’s nearly 2 to 3 weeks! My wife told them it’s seems to be the same issue as before and she doesn’t feel safe. She also told them about our upcoming 300 mile road trip. They took the truck in. The issues was cylinder 4 again. They fixed it the same day by changing a coil. The service manager told me to make sure I get good oil as this may have caused the problem. I’m not a mechanic but I don’t know what changing a coil has to do with oil. Furthermore, most of my changes were done at Ford and while others using quality synthetics of the correct weight. 2 days later we drove the truck 300 miles upstate. The truck ran fine until we turned the truck on again that night. Check engine light yet again. So we turned the truck off. Being a Saturday night we had to wait until Monday to take it to Friendly Ford (our heroes) in Geneva, NY. Friendly Ford took the truck in immediately. Within 1 day they were able to determine that there were multiple cracks in my cylinder wall and that the truck was leaking coolant. The shop Forman also bore scoped my cylinder and allowed me to take pictures of the leak he saw. They told us that this is a known problem and a service bulletin was put out with exact steps for checking and fixing the issue. They even gave me a photo copy of the bulletin and the steps are as clear as day. Ultimately, my truck needed the ENTIRE engine replaced. Friendly took care of all of this, loaned me a beautiful Ranger Lariat, let me drive it back to NJ and once my truck was fixed, sent someone to drive it back to me and pick up the loaner. Bell Ford’s negligence was egregious and they put my family in danger. God forbid my engine went and we lost power mid-trip, I could have been in a life-threatening accident with the big rigs that surrounded us on the highways. Bell knew there was a bulletin because, again, this is a common code and a common issue for Ford and Lincoln. Yet, they had no qualms about putting my family at risk. It is my belief that they didn’t want to do the work and instead did the bare minimum to get my truck moving. Their actions are disgraceful and unprofessional. I would recommend finding a reputable dealership because Bell Ford has very low standards for their version of excellence. More

Unreliable Very disappointed. I have had my vehicle less than 3 years and have had nothing but major problems. Service does not honor their appointments even t Very disappointed. I have had my vehicle less than 3 years and have had nothing but major problems. Service does not honor their appointments even though it was made 2 months in advance and I received an email confirmation. I was basically told I was a liar because I could not recall the names of the people I spoke with in the service department. If you want a new reliable vehicle, where the transmission does not have to be replaced within the first year(or have several recalls), Bell Ford is not the place for you. They can not accommodate you when the major issues that compromise your safety are still under warranty! More
Repairs not been performed by Bell Ford NJ Service Departme Good Day, I have been at the Bell Ford Dealership service department with my 2017 Ford F-150 in multiple occasions to have them resolve the followi Good Day, I have been at the Bell Ford Dealership service department with my 2017 Ford F-150 in multiple occasions to have them resolve the following issues: Program the brake controller As per the technician Melvin Rivera, the brake controller was programmed when in fact it wasn’t. I have been at the dealership twice for this issue and it never gets done. I paid $120 + tax for this service. Driver side window makes a noise going up and down I showed a video to the service advisor showing the noise the window makes. The technician Melvin Rivera stated he couldn’t verified the concerned, however, immediately after I received the car back I tested and the noise was there. Vehicle skipping gears As per the technician Melvin Rivera skipping gears is normal for this vehicle. I contact Ford customer service and was told it is NOT normal for the vehicle to skip gears It seems the technician hasn’t been trained properly to do his job and is only brushing off these issues. I have been helped by Niomi who has been doing everything she can do resolve the many issues this truck has. At this point the service manager should be involved, either he is not aware of the situation or he doesn’t want to get involved. More
Terrible Service I have only used the service department at Bell Ford once. My diesel super duty broke down during my morning commute on a very cold morning. Unfortu I have only used the service department at Bell Ford once. My diesel super duty broke down during my morning commute on a very cold morning. Unfortunately, AAA refused to tow me to my normal mechanic and suggested this dealership. I suspected the diesel had gelled due to the very cold weather, and the truck acted as if it was starved for fuel. After looking at the truck, the service advisor recommended $4500 worth of repairs. The suggested repairs made no sense and didn't explain what happened to my truck. I asked if they checked the fuel filter for gel, and they did not. I refused this service and took the truck to my normal mechanic. By the time it warmed up, no problems were found. My normal mechanic agreed that it was just gelled fuel and no repairs other than a fuel filter were needed. I sent emails and regular letters to the service manager at the dealership and was completely ignored. I wasted $270 on diagnostics that were completely wrong and they refused to even discuss this.
