My 2012 Toyota Camry was purchased new from Grand Blanc Motorcars While driving a couple of weeks later (with less than 1,000 miles), the car begin to run poorly and idiot lights began flashing. I had to have the car towed to the nearest dealership which was Spartan Toyota, Lansing. I received a phone call from Terry in their service department. I also received a 5 minute lecture from him about how it may be a "simple" fix implying I most likely left my gas cap loose, before the service department had even looked at the vehicle. He was most concerned about whether or not I had paid for the towing bill, stating that Toyota was certainly not going to cover the bill for such a little thing as a gas cap. Well after the vehicle was actually inspected, it was determined the transmission had to be completely replaced. Not such a "simple" fix after all. I spent over $400 for a rental vehicle during the time the vehicle was being repaired. Spartan Toyota is 1.5 hrs. from my home. They didn't offer any assistance for a loaner car and then refused to provide any assistance in getting the vehicle back to me. We are talking about a brand new vehicle! Wouldn't you think you would receive just a little bit of customer service when the entire transmission has to be replaced? When I reached out to Grand Blanc Motorcars, they actually sent drivers to Spartan Toyota to pick up the vehicle and return it to my home. I received a follow-up phone call from Ernesto (GM of Grand Blanc Motorcars) the next day just to check on everything. Do you think I've heard anything from Spartan Toyota? I highly recommend Grand Blanc Motorcars! But, I would run the other way when it comes to Spartan Toyota, unless of course you don't mind zero customer service! More

I glad previously connected with sales manager Jim Keyton, who met me at an appointed time and had already prepped Mike with my requirements. There was no "schmooz", no waiting in a chair while someone talks about you for 15 minutes. Mike asked intelligent questions and listened, found out what I really wanted, and was extremely helpful at every step - direct and honest. Spent quite a bit of time when I picked up the car being sure I really understood every feature, even connecting my bluetooth. I offered a low but reasonable price and it was accepted with no hassle. Had previously had a terrible experience with Dunning in Ann Arbor, condescending and slimy, and I went away angry and humiliated. So glad I went to Spartan instead, like night and day, and they now have my business. Love my RAV4. More
Please note that this review is specific to SERVICE WORK at this dealership. I've been taken all of my Toyota vehicles to this dealership for service work since I purchased my first one in 2001. During all of these years I've almost always worked with Tom Kissane in the service department. The only exceptions to that were times when he was on vacation or sick. During any of the visits in which I worked with him the service was excellent! I really feel confident that Tom's a straight-shooter on advice and service work. On multiple occasions I'd ask him for his personal recommendation on a course of action for service work that I wasn't sure about and he wouldn't hesitant to tell me if it was necessary or not necessary at that time. Before purchasing vehicles I always call to ask Tom for his honest observation and opinion on a particular model and year to see if it's a "regular visitor" to the service department or has a good reputation for being reliable and working well. Coincidentally any of the visits in which I had to work with another member of the service staff while Tom was away always results in some need for me to return to vehicle because of a problem or for something that wasn't done correctly. I've reached the point now that if I take my vehicle in for service and Tom isn't there, I leave and bring it back on a different day when he is working. I fear the day he retires! More

I walked in because I like the Prius C. Jarrett didn't play games or mess around, he gave me good information and was friendly the entire time. By the test drive I was ready to buy.
