He was energetic and when the first car I wanted to purchase fell through, we were able to find something else that worked well for me. I’d recommend anyone to check out the deals at Wiz and Work with Walter - you won’t be disappointed. More

It was a pleasure doing business with you - I can speak of Fernando as the gentleman who helped my dearest wife and me with the purchase of our new car. Its actually a used car, but appeared as I can speak of Fernando as the gentleman who helped my dearest wife and me with the purchase of our new car. Its actually a used car, but appeared as new as coming off the show room floor. I enjoyed meeting and having Fernando help us, as a- he did not misrepresent anything; b- knowing his business and how to help us; and c- friendly and polite; and d- respectful to older people. It was on a Sunday, and we had already scoped out the vehicle online, and knew exactly what we wanted. Upon our arrival to WIZ Auto's, instead of asking for that specific vehicle, I noted instead type and color. The vehicle came up in the list that he searched for us. This confirmed that a- the vehicle that we wanted was not part of a bate and switch tactic, , and b- In Fernando being very cooperative in focusing on that vehicle onward, that there was no up-selling pitch that would hasten out exit out the door - In terms of pricing, Fernando noted that they do not negotiate, where the reason being that they reprice daily based on the market which he demonstrated to my satisfaction. It took some time on that Sunday, in order to get the insurance company and bank to come to work for us, but in the meantime, Fernando behaved like a gracious host. In brief, we were not treated as transactions nor objects, but as human beings - Fernando's word also counted for me. This was also even in terms of considering writing this review - There was a hitch in obtaining our new, but used car on that Sunday. Fernando promised to bring it by our home by about 9:30 am that Monday. Well he was only a half hour over due, but at no fault of his own - The question is - Will I endorse the Wiz Auto? I endorse Fernando who represents the Wiz for me - We plan to keep our new but used car, probably for a very long time. I look forward to continuing to endorse the Wiz the way I endorse Fernando - IMPORTANT UPDATE: "Why I would buy another car from WIZ Autos in Stratford CT" The test of a used car dealer ship is when the customer wants to, perhaps, buy another car from that particular used car dealership sometime in the future; and where if the car is over 7 years old, regardless if not protected by one’s local State's Lemon law, the used car dealership demonstrates that they are willing, in some measurable and stated way, to stand behind what they sell to you. Many used cars these days that are sold can actually be considered old, by US manufacturing standards, where they are not covered by a state's used car lemon law. When a car is older than 7 years old in CT, the used car lemon law no longer applies. What this means is: a used car dealership has no legal liability in terms of what "AS IS" might be interpreted as. It could mean - that AS IS, the vehicle is fully operational to the best of the dealership's knowledge. On the other hand, it could also end up meaning, to the customer “use at your own risk" - So . . . . , then, . . . why would I want to buy a used car that is over 7 years old from a used car dealership ? It was because WIZ Auto's in Stratford, CT, had our beautiful green Mercedes listed for sale. She is a very clean and well maintained 2001 E430. They don't make them this way, I heard, anymore. Still smelling like she just came off the showroom floor, my wife and I knew that this was like having our first, all over again. In discovering her ( our Mercedes ) was like happening upon a jewel in an otherwise sandy beach; because in effect, a 75,000 mile odometer, for a Mercedes, is saying that it is just getting broken in for the next 500,000 miles! Another motivation: being that our Mercedes was not seven (7), but actually 18 years old, meant that it was priced at about 1/10th of its original sticker. So the question: was this too good to be true? , was asked! Looking at our Mercedes, that Sunday morning, when she was on the WIZ's lot, I couldn't say that I had seen a cleaner car in a long time. When test driving it, the fact that the salesman, Fernando, could sit in the back seat feeling safe and secure, while I pushed the acceleration of the Mercedes E430, and exploited the power of its ferocious V8, told me that this car was not junk, but in fact a performer. She could actually clock to 165 MPH if the limiter is removed, but you can’t get street legal tires to match it! My wife and I had first researched our beauty online before even arriving at the WIZ. There is a whole other story about that. In short, we had researched the WIZ's reputation. And in speaking with other dealerships for about two weeks before meeting Fernando at the WIZ showed what they could be like. It seemed like, at the WIZ, that our Mercedes was simply a done deal, and a very true one that looked like it was made just for us. Our Mercedes was like a brand new car. Fernando took care of all the DMV stuff, and we got our Mercedes, that we named "Mercedes, that Monday - The engineering in the Mercedes had really impressed me, and we decided to take a long awaited trip to visit family that lived some 500 miles away. The trip was great, and Mercedes did a great job in handing the mountains at high speeds. But once we arrived at my mother in laws, where parking in her driveway in the mountains is on a 45 degree angle, we could smell the distinct odor of engine oil burning on the exhaust system. The local Mercedes dealer in her area said it was about a $1400 repair. Well, East coast prices were more than likely going to be about $2500.00 for the same repairs. Although an engine oil leak, the Mercedes mechanic noted that it was safe to drive home. Also, the problem was not as serious when not in the mountains of Appalachia when at 45 degree angles. On the drive back, the message - "use at your own risk" started resonating, and that any car once purchased from and taken off the property of WIZ Autos, which is 7 years or older, might have to be sized up as lessons learned . . . . ! After all, the WIZ did not say that they certified the vehicle. In fact they said that there was no lemon law protection for it. I figured the repairs would have to come from out of pocket and of course at East coast prices. The joke is . . . . We had decided beforehand not to spend $2000.00+ on repairing our last car's transmission, and instead to just get another car with more life to it - We even donated our old beast which we had called George when we got Mercedes. Anyway, by the time we finally got home from Appalachia, there was an email from my mother in law waiting letting me know just how oily her driveway was left, and that the WIZ should have known of this problem, and should be held responsible for fixing it ! Additionally an online friend who sells exotics composed also some choice words for sending to the WIZ. But before sizing any damages, or restitution claim or action, or passing judgment on the WIZ in any way, most important was to get Mercedes fixed; and then give the WIZ the opportunity to be honorable! Our local Mercedes shop appointment was scheduled to handle the repairs. This starts at $145 per hour which is why just an oil change on our Mercedes is not cheap either. But at least they are supposed to wash your car when they finish. I wrote also to the WIZ. The message was, 'do you honor what you sell?' About two days later, Ralph from the WIZ contacted me. He said that although they are not legally liable for the problem, that they would want us to choose the WIZ for the next cars that we did get. And in this spirit, the WIZ would meet halfway on the labor, and where it would be at their internal price of about $75 per hour as opposed to $140 per hour. I cancelled the appointment with the Mercedes dealership. What I saw was that in working with the WIZ, in effect, our cost was about 1/4th of what I would need to pay Mercedes; and in fact, it was just a little more than what it would be for an oil change, or, well perhaps a tune up too! And we definitely have 5 quarts of brand new Mercedes grade oil - In review I see that the WIZ did honor what they sell, or at least in our case what we bought from them, and although they had no legal responsibility, that ethically, they acted responsibly in taking ownership in meeting at least halfway on the cost for immediate repairs. In dealing with used cars, ‘AS IS’, can mean a lot of things. At the WIZ it does not mean "use at your Own Risk" as soon as you drive it off their property. Instead it means that they intend for what they sell to be fully operational as wanting your return business. Buying a Certified Used Mercedes might have been a safer route. But I’m not sure if the pocket book can afford it. On the other hand, it’s a no brain’r that I will return to the WIZ if and when planning to buy an additional car. More
