Beyond disappointed with a dealership of this caliber. Beyond disappointed with a dealership of this caliber. I’ve leased two trucks from here. The last truck I over heard a different salesman talking on Beyond disappointed with a dealership of this caliber. I’ve leased two trucks from here. The last truck I over heard a different salesman talking on his personal cell saying he made some really good deals so he can make a few trash deals soon. This past weekend me and wife and kids went to trade in our traverse for a new one. Sales Manager Rick offered us 11,000 when the pay off was 12,2XX. He said it was simple math and we wouldn’t get the payment we wanted. So we left. Two days later he calls and says they reviewed the last weeks deals and they can now offer us 1,300 more for our car to close the deal. I asked him to replace the more than half used tires because they were over half used and one had a screw in it. He offered to “professionally” repair the tire, but that was the best he could do because they don’t get free tires. But they must get free tire repair at their own service center 🤔 After driving it home we noticed a severe shutter reaction in the tranny of a 2018 white Chevy traverse LT with 52,000 miles on it. Yes, a 2018 with 20” black rims, don’t buy it. My local mechanic looked it up. It’s a problem in those cars. The torque converter and tranny fluids weren’t kept up. So it could be problems ahead for who ever gets it, but after they read this it will go to auction and who knows who will wind up with it. Another one swept under the rug! They also charged us 24,748 for the car. The internet price was dropped to 24.448. The other sales manager, Matt, told us that Rick begged and pleaded to get us a better trade in price to the owner, Mr Chichester, is this true? Or shall I contact you to verify? I was specifically told that we were given 1,000 more for our car to make 12,000 and they lowered the price of the car 300 to make up the difference. But hey, our contract says that our sale price was 24,748 and our trade in price doesn’t reflect the correct amount either... hmmm I told them that we are taking the car back during its 5 day return period. I’m not good with liars and immoral salesman. I’ve absolutely had it with places like this. I was asked to bring the car back sooner than later so that miles were not racked up in their car any more than necessary. I told Matt that I work and can’t make it till the 5th day. If he would like he could bring ours back and take theirs as soon as they could come to my location. Our salesman Walter Hitchcock said he was too busy to bring our car back. I guess he’s too upset that a car was returned under his reputation too? I’m over them. Never again. Never again. More

I went in for tires, I made an online appointment for a Monday morning appointment, on a Thursday afternoon. On Friday, I decided to stop in to add an oil change to the appointment, and was told my appoint Monday morning appointment, on a Thursday afternoon. On Friday, I decided to stop in to add an oil change to the appointment, and was told my appointment was not made, so I made a new appointment and added the oil change. The price for the tires out the door installed was $647 dollars, and oil change was $69. I Left and I received notice via text message, stating my appointment for Monday Morning at 9:30 am was set. and an hour later I got another reminder for my 11:30 am appointment. Upon dropping my vehicle off at the service center, the price of the tires went up $20 dollars. When I asked what that was about the service writer tried playing dumb, until I pulled out my paper work from Friday showing the price out the door. He stated he'd take care of that. My vehicle was supposed to be finished after lunch, where they called me then and mentioned I needed valve stems too, and would cost $64. I mentioned to him that they get replaced everywhere else I go when buying tires, and he gave me a run around answer why they didn't do that. he also went on to say I needed many other services as well, typical. My truck was not finished at what would be thought of as a typical after lunch say 1-2 pm. I was called at 4:30 pm that my truck was finished, technically after lunch. I picked my truck up Tuesday morning and questioned the pricing and where my old parts were, he said they probably gotten thrown out and that's what the price is. So I mentioned I hope the parts did not get thrown out (Michigan law states parts must be returned to owner if requested). I pulled out quotes from other suppliers of what the valve stems should cost, and proved they marked them up 100%. I was told my price was better than what they get, and I assured him it was not. At this point a xxxxxxx manager came out to try and put me in my place, were I assured everyone else around could hear what was going on. I did not apologize as I would normally as I have now heard of other stories just like this about Williams Chevrolet in Traverse City Michigan. I did however say to forget the pricing I will just pay it and be done with you. After paying almost $900 for tires and an oil change (originally supposed to be $715), I decided as I was already worked up over this whole situation, to check my oil. The filter was new, so I popped the hood and checked the dipstick. Upon inspection, the oil was cloudy and smelled of gas. So I took a sample to the service desk and asked if the oil looked new, and was assured yes. So I asked what it smelled like, they said exhaust and a little gas. I then proceeded to ask, is that what brand new oil smells like right out of their oil barrels, and got the answer ,"I can assure you it is new oil". They did not even want to prove to me it was new. So for my $69 dollar oil change, they pulled the oil filter, put a new one on, and topped off the oil. They charged me a full price of an oil change, where the only changed a filter and added maybe a quart of oil. Williams Chevrolet traverse City its service center and parts department are nothing but xxxxxxxx and will do whatever they can to capitalize on unsuspecting customers. I am glad I was raised to take care of my things myself, this time I was just blinded by convenience. I strongly urge nobody to use this dealership or its network of other dealers. they will lie and try to bully you into submission. Williams Chevrolet in traverse City Michigan is by far in my experience the worst and most crooked Dealership i have ever had to use! More

I agreed. While I waited, I was greeted by a sales lady and asked if they offered me enough, would I be interested in purchasing or leasing at all. I asked about leasing since I do not drive the miles I used to. She explained it all and showed me options within my price range. I told her, as I was not prepared to be in another vehicle that I could not put any money down. She assured me I would not need any money down. After the appraisal was done, they offered me enough to pay off my current loan and the left over $1200 would be put into the lease agreement towards the new car. I was told my monthly payments, and the length of the lease. After 4.5 hours, my license plate was on the new car, myself and my kids were exhausted, they hit me with "we will need $3000 down"... I responded Uhhh no, that was not the deal. Meanwhile, my vehicle was in the service dept that had now closed for the day. I was stuck without a vehicle. How are we supposed to get home now??? I was offered to purchase the vehicle at more of a monthly payment and for 7 years!!! NO I said. I was told to take the new vehicle home with a dealer plate, while they worked to help me fix this issue.... I call back 4 days later, and they hadnt worked anything out, just the offer of purchasing it. I then, took my car to another dealership, who offered me more for my car and got me into a brand new car in 1 hour with no issues... I will never deal with Williams again and have heard many of the same stories. More

Since we have had it he has been able to drive it 20 days off and on all of the rest of the time it has been having engine work being done on it. They said they couldn't work on it because it is a dodge so we had to take it to a dodge dealership to get the work done which means the warranty we paid extra for makes us pay $200 each time it goes back to get worked on. Something we wouldn't have to pay it Williams worked on it.But then again why should it be getting all this work done on it if it was a good truck. We are pretty sure they knew there was something wrong with it when they sold us the truck. We do now have the state looking into they selling habits. More
Scammed, probably lied to and insulted by the GM Took nephew to dealership to buy a used car. Looked at one he liked and then went to another dealership to look at their vehicles. Came back and tol Took nephew to dealership to buy a used car. Looked at one he liked and then went to another dealership to look at their vehicles. Came back and told the salesman what we wanted to purchase. Sat down and gave him the paperwork to run the credit or could have put the car on a credit card. Another couple walks in and the same salesman talks to them and the salesman comes back to us and states that they are buying the same car. I asked to see a deposit, because clearly we agreed to buy the car first. Salesman states that he had been working with them all day. I was shocked, because they tire kicked him all day, they were going to be purchasing the vehicle. Then this is when it got interesting, I asked the GM to call me and when he did, he was just an arrogant jerk. Told him that we were a family of GM union employees and he responded that he was glad the dealership wasn’t union. Then he proceeded to tell me that the other couple had a credit app in and that they were local (inferring that we aren’t) (nephew is) and the credit app was as good as a deposit. When I questioned that, he said that it was more than an app, but they were approved, but wouldn’t the salesman know that. Then he bragged about the dealership’s 4.6 app rating, when we can all see that it is a 2.9. After reviewing other feedback at least 2 directly reference his shortcomings. Maybe they do such a great business that they don’t need employees, retirees, union members or non-locals to buy their cars. Please share if you are GM. More

I paid $50 to MY mechanic while I was at work to inspect a vehicle I was interested in and they took his review of it and sold it THE SAME DAY WHILE I was at work!! CROOKS!! I was approved for the loan but when I test drove this certified SUV it made loud sound while driving so I told them I needed to take it to my mechanic so they did while I was at work. My Mechanic gave them the review and they sold it hours later with that while I was still at work. I was told they were bad news so this just confirms it. I've always used dealerships to buy my cars and I have NEVER had anything like this happen! Only in Traverse City, my hometown. As far as I am concerned they owe me $50.00 and an apology but I know I will never receive either. I pray for all of you, THAT IS WHO I AM! More

I got there and was greeted by skyler who jovially walked me through the basics of the vehicle and answered all my questions respectfully. It drove well and had a few issues but I was all set to walk off the lot with it as soon as the financial issues settled. Once I was introduced to the sales manager everything went down hill. He started by talking to me somewhat pleasantly however didnt offer a handshake or introduce himself. He interrupted me and my friend who also is a woman, and spoke to us with condescension in his voice. He acted as if the fact that we were women meant we knew nothing about cars and tried to convince me that my 06 jeep w/ ONLY 129,000 on it was worthless. He then tried state it also had power steering issues because he had a hard time dry turning the wheel while it was in 4 wheel drive. He then tried to insinuate that I wouldn't be approved for a loan. Needless to say I haven't been treated with this much disrespect since I was a McDonald's employee. I generally don't post reviews but I don't want another potential buyer going through this. All I can say is, if you're a woman avoid this dealership. Oh, then they lost,my car keys and license.....
