This is the second car we have bought thru this dealership. I felt like they were honest when we went to the financing department, both times. Before we left with our new car, Matt showed us how everything in the car worked. He was very patient with us as we asked all of our questions. I went here just expecting to test drive one of the many models I had in mind to buy. But it was the friendliness of our associate as well as the selection and wealth of information he provided us with, tha models I had in mind to buy. Short version: Milan and Tim found the car I wanted, met me on my trade and price, and saved me from shady, time-wasting dealers. Long version: When I called Wiesner Hyundai and spoke to Milan I had alread me on my trade and price, and saved me from shady, time-wasting dealers. Long version: When I called Wiesner Hyundai and spoke to Milan I had already been jerked around by two dealerships and I was fast, abrupt, and probably a bit rude. I was sitting at Hillcrest in Huntsville and I was very frustrated by the deliberate obtuseness and underhandedness of the whole damned dealership system. I told Milan,”I want a black 2011 Genesis Coupe and two dealers have told me it’s impossible, there aren’t any anywhere. Call me back if you can find one.” Milan called me back 10 minutes later and said he had found two in Texas that he could trade for. I was, of course, skeptical. I said, “Really? Are you messing with me? When I get down there am I going to find out you screwed up and there really aren’t any but, oh, look at this nice Sonata?” He assured me that he was not mistaken and he could get the car if I am interested. I said, “If the car really is the one I am asking for and you can meet both the price and trade in that Hillcrest was offering, I’ll buy it.” Hillcrest had the wrong color and were playing with numbers in a way that really made me nervous. I gave him the numbers and info on my trade in, he talked to his manager, Tim, and he came back and agreed to the price but, understandably, hedged on the trade-in. Sight unseen he couldn’t promise that price, but, if the trade-in is in good condition, it should be fine. Once at Wiesner Hyundai, they made the process painless and quick (perhaps because it was already 6p by then). Milan took my trade in to the inspector across the street who gave me what I wanted. Tim, the manager, pulled some Hyundai rebates out of his hat that the other dealerships hadn’t even mentioned for some crazy reason and met the price I wanted to pay (well below their invoice price). When I went to financing Tim and Milan coached me through what it was going to be like, maybe seeing how tired I was by this point, and gave me good advice on what to focus on in the mountain of paperwork. This was likely out of self-interest since the financing guy that night was overworked because two of the four were out sick and he did indeed make two errors (wrong financing arrangement, wrong license plates). I caught the financing error, just a simple oversight on the financing guy’s part, and made it through in one piece. They tried to sell me some insurance, as I expected, but that was it. They didn’t force me to pay for VIN etching like Hillcrest wanted to or any other nonsense mandatory crap. I drove off in a loaner 2011 Hyundai Sonata that I kept for two days until my Genesis came in. A week later I realized that my Genesis is missing some of the accessories that were on the sticker, namely the ipod cable and the cargo mat. I called Tim, he checked his records and then immediately called the parts department and had them order the missing accessories for me. The parts arrived a couple of days later and I was very happy. All that above is my buying experience but there is one more chapter to the story that is the real reason I feel so compelled to tell the world about my experience. My wife was looking for a car at the same time and decided, against all better judgment, to take the deal at Hillcrest. They had the car she wanted, Wiesner wouldn’t be able to get one for three weeks. I won’t go into details because I want this review to stay on the site, but let me outline for you why Tim is awesome. We had some…problems with Hillcrest a couple of days after I bought my car from Wiesner. I phoned Tim to get his opinion, as a dealership manager, of our situation. He was incredulous when I described the scene at Hillcrest and offered to take a look at the paperwork. I brought it down to him and he looked over it for about half an hour and gave his opinion. After speaking with him and a lawyer in Dallas, we were able to play a bit of hardball and keep our deal. Now, its important to note that my business with Wiesner had already concluded, so Tim had no compelling financial reason to go so far out of his way to help me. He took half a dozen phone calls from my wife and I over the Hillcrest situation and was utterly patient and polite throughout. I highly recommend going to Wiesner Hyundai and dealing with Tim and Milan. Do your homework, come in with a reasonable offer and these guys can make it happen and watch your back throughout the process. More
