I feel like I was taken advantage of by this dealer’s service department. My wife’s 2016 Civic had an issue with leaking refrigerant in the air conditioner. I discovered on a Civic forum website that Hon service department. My wife’s 2016 Civic had an issue with leaking refrigerant in the air conditioner. I discovered on a Civic forum website that Honda was aware of the problem and was extending the warranty from 3 years to 10 on compressor seals and the a/c condenser. The dealer told me that it might not be an issue with the compressor seals or the condenser, in which case I would be liable for the cost of the repair, which could run as high as $450. After having to leave the car overnight because their technician couldn’t get their diagnostic equipment to work properly on the *first* day of the service appointment, and after having to call on both days because I never received a call from the dealer, they claimed that it was a different seal than any of the ones covered under the extended warranty, and we had to pay not $450, but *$860* for the repair. We will not be using this dealer for service on our Civic in the future, and we will definitely look at brands other than Honda when we replace the Civic. More
