For the fourth time we have brought our new 2008 Highlander in for service and for the fourth time about 3 days later the check engine light comes on. It is always the VSC warning. When I try and ge Highlander in for service and for the fourth time about 3 days later the check engine light comes on. It is always the VSC warning. When I try and get the issue resolved I have to wait a week or so to get the vehicle in. Terrible service department!! They don't know what they are doing. More
A few months ago I purchased a Matrix from White River Toyota (excellent experience). I traded in a 1988 Corolla for it that was completely "manual" and it has been interesting having a car that is pretty Toyota (excellent experience). I traded in a 1988 Corolla for it that was completely "manual" and it has been interesting having a car that is pretty much a rolling computer. Despite having read the instructions, I was unable to disconnect several of the "conveniences" modern cars seem to require such as doors that lock automatically. I called Eric Hard, the amazing service advisor who has helped me over the years, and he immediately set me up with TJ - the technical guru who knows every single Toyota inside and out. As soon as I arrived at WRT, TJ dropped everything to help me. He got out his laptop, which seems to have replaced the old-fashioned tools like wrenches I am used to, and quickly communicated my wishes to the car. He knew exactly what to do and concentrated at the task while keeping up a friendly and humorous conversation with me. I was in and out of the Service Department in less than 1/2 hour and it didn't cost me a penny! This is the way "service" used to be, but rarely is nowadays. I commend White River Toyota for it's superb, organized, and efficient service, and Eric Hard and TJ in particular for going the extra mile. This is one dealership where you can get expert, honest service and not have to wait weeks for an appointment. More
Alicia (I'm not sure of the spelling) was the only service person in our area who could or would help me on the phone with our cabin filter. She was knowledgeable about what was involved and the cost. service person in our area who could or would help me on the phone with our cabin filter. She was knowledgeable about what was involved and the cost. She also was able to help with a bad fuel problem, helping us get back the $1600 cost of the repairs. For the first several services, I'd drop the car off and pick it up when no one was there, so I met no one. The work, however, was done as promised. Many times Alicia and others have helped with warranty issues. Each service person there has been straightforward and when we've disagreed situations have been resolved quickly and fairly (I've not always been right). If you are near this area, I don't know of another Toyota dealer I'd have work done at. To be fair, though, I've only tried the two closest to me. I'd love not to have to have dealer work done 1-1/2 hours away, but days, money, and effort wasted at closer dealers have been a lot worse than the time spent to, near, and from White River Toyota. There is a lot to do in the area and they'll shuttle you to and from several places nearby. Tell 'em Peter sent you. More
