I decided to look around at other dealerships and decided to check out Honda. I remember walking into the dealership and being greeted with a warm smile by Taina Carrero. I was expecting the typical sales person to be aggressive and going straight for the sale but she spoke to me in a calm tone and asked me the kind of questions that led me to my Honda Accord Coupe. She walked me through every step and answered all of my questions (and I had many!) I really felt she was working hard to get me the best deal. She made my new experience at Honda a memorable one. I never thought I would get into a Honda! I love my new car and look forward to what the future has to offer. More
Actually went to this dealer about a year ago, but only found out about this dealer rater recently. They advertised a used Subaru Impreza on cars.com and we drove there all the way from New Jersey to make an offer. Test drove the car, liked it and started to discuss the price. The salesman asked where we from and when we told him New Jersey, he claimed that there was an $1,000 extra prep fee required for cars bought in NY and then brought to NJ. He claimed that it was a state law and he could do nothing about it. I kept saying that he was full of it and he kept leaving to go talk to his boss. Each time he came back he lowered the "required by law" fee until he finally said they would waive the fee. I then offered a fair price below theirs and he claimed that he was already giving me a deal by waiving the fee. We walked out and did some research and as I suspected, the fee he claimed was legally required was a complete lie. The salesman and manager were both in on this awful lie. I would avoid this place. My experience with White Plains Honda was pleasurable only because of your young salesman, Javier Cano. I found him to be friendly, polite and respectful of my wishes as a Honda customer. Great place to buy a car .The sales team really puts the best foot forward . They called after the sale to see if everything was to my liking . A bit of background about me first, I am driving 27 years. My first new car was a 1989 Caravan and my last was a 2006 Highlander. In total I have bought 7 new cars. I never buy used. My last experience years. My first new car was a 1989 Caravan and my last was a 2006 Highlander. In total I have bought 7 new cars. I never buy used. My last experience with Toyota I was not happy with. When it was time to purchase a new car I wanted to have a totally internet experience. I contacted 50 dealers via email between NH, MA, VT, CT, PA, and NY. Walter, the Internet sales manager, at White Plains Honda was the only one to meet my no haggle all prices and fees dislcosed up front requirement. Walter was so efficient that he even placed the car on order and got me a production number before I could even agree to the deal! That forward thinking and openness sealed the deal. I then went to the dealership where I was friendly greeted by everyone and placed a $500 deposit on the order. Tim, another salesman, even took me out on a test drive. He was knowledgeable and quite frankly cool. Walter and Lisa kept me well informed (and put up with my many questions)while the car was in production, through shipping, and finally to delivery at the dealership. The options I requested were installed before I picked up the car. (I have had to return at other dealers!)Lisa called me the day before told me financing was in place and scheduled a time for me to come in. Mind you I had everything settled online before I even went in. When I went to pick up the car Lisa had it waiting for me, gave me a great tour of the cars features, and had all the paperwork ready to go. I then met with Hamid in finance. I know what you are all thinking about the finance department, BUT in this case it was a pleasure and a breeze. Hamid had even gotten me a lower rate! NO pressure pitches. Afterward Walter and Lisa said good bye and offered any assistance after the sale they could offer. I was only 40 minutes form the time I entered until the time I left in my new car. This was truly best buying experience I have ever had. I will honestly and strongly recommend these salespeople. I cannot say enough on how extremely happy the whole experience was. Thank you Walter and Lisa! More
This is our third Honda and everything started out fine. We were given a good price via email and that price was honored. When it came to financing the employees were completely unfamiliar with the offers We were given a good price via email and that price was honored. When it came to financing the employees were completely unfamiliar with the offers that were featured on the Honda website which included 1.9 financing on Civics. We figured no big deal so we applied to be preapproved online and printed out the information for our salesman. All fine. 10 days later he calls to say car is there and ready, come and get it, so I dropped my husband off only to have him call an hour later to say that the dealership was claiming that you could only receive this deal if you bought a $2300 extended warranty with the car, otherwise 7.2% was what we could get. Never mentioned this in the 10 days of phone calls and updates or when we went ian the first time. They thought they had us because the plates were already on the car and my husband had told them he was going on a trip that afternoon. There was no mention of this caveat on the honda website and when I called another dealer just to check they said it was not part of the deal. It was never mentioned until pen was in hand. These guys are outrageous. I would never recommend thes guys to anyone. More
Don't buy from White Plains Honda...or its sister dealership Paragon Honda. They might say the dealerships are family owned, but "family" is not what they espouse when selling or servicing your car. dealership Paragon Honda. They might say the dealerships are family owned, but "family" is not what they espouse when selling or servicing your car. If ownership knew of complaints the continued ineptitude wouldn't happen. Let's just say, they don't have "Consumer Relations." The sales staff don't know their own product. Pre-Owned department might say the cars are certified, but that only means they charged you for that 12-month, 12000 mile warranty; it doesn't mean they actually serviced the car properly for sale, or that the service department did any service correctly. After 4 return visits for a series of problems, I contacted Consumer Relations. That accomplishes nothing. Contacting American Honda about service works to some extent, but really only as liaison because the final decision is White Plains Honda's, but they really don't care nor have any skills to recognize that their jobs and commissions depends on referral, reviews, etc. They change prices on cars daily, even re-listing cars that have already sold for more than they sold. Rude sales staff. The lot looks like a sleezy operation, and it works like one. However, similarly, what you see online is NOT what you get. Have the car inspected by another mechanic immediately if you really like the price for that car; White Plains Honda may allow it but don't accept it, though. And even if you find the price you like whether on their own website or other site, they don't honor that price. Go elsewhere; pay a few bucks more for better service. They just don't care for much other than the $$$$ at sale, which in itself is perplexing because based on experience I would never return to have a car serviced there, which is when dealerships really make their money. Go figure. Plain and simple, buy a Prius, or buy a Honda elsewhere. More
I purchased 4 Honda's from the dealership when it was On Roberson Avenue and had mostly favorable experiences. Just Prior to their move to Central avenue, they were taken over by a larger dealer network. Roberson Avenue and had mostly favorable experiences. Just Prior to their move to Central avenue, they were taken over by a larger dealer network. SInce then, dealing with them has been nothing but frustrating. (By the way the service department is still Excellent!) I received a call a few months back offering early lease tremination on my Accord. While the car is fine, the new model is nicer, so I thought I'd go in and see what they had to offer. I made an appointment, brought some ad's with me, and the sales person matched the best price, so far so good. Then she took the details on my Accord and after 15 minutes with the manager told me that she could not take back my car until the end of the lease as it would leave them in a negative position. My question: Why, before cold calling me, and having me waste 90 minutes in the dealership, did they not run the numbers and only call customers where the early termination would work. I told them NEVER to call me again. I hve received MONTHLY calls since then, on my cell phone , no less, all trying to get me to come in for the same deal. This ill thought out tactic has cost them a customer for life. I will pay MORE MONEY, to go elsewhere. I have filed a DO Not Call complaint as well. More
I bought myself a new 08 Honda Pilot for my birthday and was completely satified with the service I received from the sales consultant Taina and the dealership as a whole. The staff was very courteous offering me coffee while I waited. This was my first time buying a NEW car and was surprised that it was such a good experience. Everyone from the sales consultant to the finance manager were professional and friendly. I will definitely continue to purchase/lease vehicles from this dealership. More
