I purchased a 2019 Jeep Cherokee in December 2018 from this dealership. I was very satisfied with the service center until the last 4 months. The service in the Jeep Service area STINKS. I think I have se this dealership. I was very satisfied with the service center until the last 4 months. The service in the Jeep Service area STINKS. I think I have seen the service change in this area since assuming new management in the Jeep Service area. There is no flexibility in walk in service, long wait times for service, over booking, a broken internet service appointment system, etc. I went in on November 25, 2024 for check engine light on and the diagnostic test showed a throttle system malfunction. I was advised by the gentleman in the service area I should not drive the vehicle as it could breakdown or shut down at any time. The gentleman adivsed me to make an appointment for service. I made an appointment online and got a confirmation for Dec.7, 2024 at 12 noon. I arrive at the Service Center to drop the vehicle at 10:30 am to only be told I did not have an appointment. I show the gentleman the email confirmation and serveral appointment reminders on my phone. He said, "Well yeah no we can't do your car today." He shrugged then said, "Yeah sorry." I felt very disrespected and told him that was xx. I waited almost 2 weeks for an appointment and could have made an appointment with another Jeep service center. I know Westgate Jeep has lost a loyal customer because I am done. I will take my money and business elsewhere. More
I purchased a car new and my first experience with service has been horrible. I had to initiate constant follow ups & open a case with Dodge to get prompt resolution. All said and done, the work per service has been horrible. I had to initiate constant follow ups & open a case with Dodge to get prompt resolution. All said and done, the work performed was done well (albeit from a 3rd party). I won't go into a long writeup of everything that has transpired over the past 2 months as there were multiple fumbles. The net net is that you will not feel like you are a valued customer, the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing, you will have to chase them and be prepared for non-call backs and missed commitments. My first oil change is "free" as part of my purchase however I will not be going back. I guess I am lucky that this was not a more serious problem. More
Do not take your vehicle into this place for service! I took both my dodge challenger and Ram 1500 in for service back in October 2023. My Challenger needed a battery, however after I received the car back my dashboard lit up with all kind of warning lights. After 2 months they were unable to correctly diagnose and fix the issue. In February after frustration I took the car to another Dealer in Durham and within a week they diagnosed the issue as being a loose ground wire likely caused by whomever replaced the battery. The dodge Ram was taken in the same week for what I thought was a bad clutch. They diagnosed the issue as a bad clutch, ordered the parts tat came in in January and the have yet to schedule my truck in for service 4 months after the parts came in. After placing weekly chasing phone calls(Often with no return phonecalls) and being told I would be scheduled the following week on and on I went to the drastic measure of having the truck towed to the same dealer in Durham and a 2 days later they diagnosed the issue as an oil pan leak and stated that I didn't need a clutch that I was about to pay for at Westgate. Take your vehicle to this shop at your own peril. More

Late last year they announced in order to continue getting Westgate for Life benefits that were promised during purchase we had to get “dealer recommended services” completed at the dealer’s servicing shop. They give you a list of things to complete with a PRICE NEXT TO EACH ITEM. This part is important. They provide the exact price to you. When you get the service done the price they charge you is completely different from the list they give you with prices! I’ve reached out to them repeatedly and the service advisor refuses to pick up the phone or give callbacks. I call the service desk and they claim a manager will reach out. No outreach. I ask online for a callback set up and no call is provided. They are overcharging despite giving out a list with prices and refuse to own up to it. If this were truly an innocent mistake they would have made an effort to explain themselves. Take their silence as a warning. More

The customer service here, specifically in the service department has been terrible. Numerous times I have called to make an appointment and I am left on hold for several minutes; two occasions I waited f department has been terrible. Numerous times I have called to make an appointment and I am left on hold for several minutes; two occasions I waited for over 10 minutes until anyone even answered the phone. Last week on 4/18 I had an appointment for a tire rotation and oil change. I dropped my car at 9am, I also noted that I had been hearing some squeaking on bumps. At then end of 4/18, I still had not heard if my service had been completed. I called numerous times — no one would answer. Finally, I got someone on the phone who said my service advisor was away from the desk and that they were the only person who can give me an update. That was incredibly frustrating. They would not give any update whatsoever. On day two, I still hadn't heard anything. I was very upset by this point because I had a death in the family and needed to drive out of state to Pennsylvania. I called several times. I sat on hold for so long at one point the call disconnected. I called again and again and never got an update. By the end of the second day I received a call from a service advisor who was not the one assigned. She updated me that my car's oil change and tire rotation was completed but that I needed new front struts and that it would cost $1,300. I was shocked because my Grand Cherokee has only 23,000 miles on it, primarily highway. I asked why it would need this, and I was again not given an answer. Of note, I also have a Certified Pre-Owned warranty that would cover this expense. The service advisor said she didn't know but that by the time I came to get my car they could tell me everything. When I arrived, she shared that the they still did not have an answer — zero reasoning — as to why I would need brand new struts. I was exhausted by this point so I was ready to just leave the dealership. Then the service advisor asks where I purchased my car, which was Virginia. She then verbatim said, "oh! That's probably why. Sometimes when you buy a car in the north and bring it down south, that can make the metal kind of bad." What an absolutely uneducated and absurd statement. These are the service experts??? It's now a week later and I still don't have any answers. All I know is that my new, warranty-covered suspension allegedly arrives on 5/23. I have tried to call both the general manager and service manager and gotten nowhere but voicemails without any name on them. Can't find an email address either. More
Absolutely terrible customer service in the service department. I bought a 2018 jeep for $50K, I had a simple question about a pump and all they would tell me was that I needed to bring it in. On Wednesday, 092122, I brought my 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee in for regular maintenance. I spoke with Chris, Service Manager, and expressed concerns about making sure that I received services that I pa Cherokee in for regular maintenance. I spoke with Chris, Service Manager, and expressed concerns about making sure that I received services that I paid for. I told him that on my previous visit, I had the so-called 40,000 miles service. The dealership kept my vehicle on this visit for six hours. When I picked my vehicle up, I was hit with a bill for $700. I stressed to Chris that I wanted to make sure that his service technicians had done what I paid for. While my vehicle was being serviced, Chris brought me the replaced cabin air filter in an attempt to show that the work was done. I’m a participant of Westgate For Life, which gives the oil changes for free with a $26 fee for the tire rotation. I also had my vehicle’s tires balanced, which is an additional $30 fee. Thankfully I was in line and heard a Sales Representative state to another customer that a tire rotation and balance costs around $52. When I picked up my vehicle, the Sales Representative that assisted me tried to charge me $78. I told him that I heard another Sales Representative quote $52. He stepped away from the desk and came back with an apology. He changed the amount owed and I exited the building. Once I got to my vehicle, I noticed that my tires had not been rotated. The front passenger tire has a plug in it due to a repair from a nail. I informed the Sales Representative that this was not a good look, especially since I was suspicious about the service previously rendered. To sum it all up, I was nearly overcharged and the service I paid for wasn’t completed. I’m normally flooded with requests to complete surveys after my service dates, but I had to use an old link this time to express my displeasure. This is poor customer service!!!! More
