I purchased a vehicle and the transmission went after 7 days. They sent me to their own transmission mechanic and he too affirmed a new transmission was needed. I went back and spoke to the owner Laura, who started to yell at me stating she has no crystal ball and then had me escorted out of the dealership. Her husband then started to yell about how I made him change the two tires that were bald. After all it is my 17 year old daughter driving it. She drove it for only 58 miles. More
After we took a test drive, the dealer named their price, which was a full $2K higher than the listed price (even before fees and tax). They said that the price they listed on the cars.com website did not i which was a full $2K higher than the listed price (even before fees and tax). They said that the price they listed on the cars.com website did not include a $2000 down payment. We checked cars.com several times and could not find that mentioned anywhere on their advertisement. On their own website it said that "Online Advertised Price reflects a $1995 down payment or equivalent trade," which is confusing wording (and possibly bad English). We walked away from the dealer, which they mistook for a negotiation tactic rather than frustration and disgust. We had placed a refundable $500 deposit down as a "hold," and they did eventually refund this, but made us jump through a few hoops before they would give it to us in the form we had paid it (cash). The dealer insisted that this invisible extra down payment is "standard practice" in the industry, but since they didn't mention it on cars.com I can't help but feel this was just a bait-and-switch to get us in the door.
