The Quest for an Elusive WRX! I have wanted a WRX hatchback for as long as I can remember. I really liked the charcoal grey color and wanted a low mileage 2014 (the last year the h I have wanted a WRX hatchback for as long as I can remember. I really liked the charcoal grey color and wanted a low mileage 2014 (the last year the hatch was offered), and I was willing to travel to obtain it. I was pretty excited as it was my first car purchase and I hope to have the car for a long, long time. I had email notifications set up on Autotraders and CarGurus, which I highly recommend doing (especially if you are being as insanely picky as myself). I was alerted when a 2011 Grey WRX popped up at the Wayne Dealership - I was happy about the certified pre-owned option and after doing some research on the dealership I was ready to make a trip out to New Jersey from Manhattan. I sent them an email inquiry and heard back from Steve within the hour. After a few pretty quick emails back and forth I set up an appointment - Steve's rapid responses were a welcome change from other dealerships I had worked with. Not only that but Steve agreed to pick me up at the bus station down the street - incredible customer service before I had even met him. When I got in his car, he let me know they had just got a 2014 in with half the miles and he was all set to do two test drives even though it would keep him after normal dealership hours. You can probably see a theme developing - Steve is an incredibly gracious, accommodating and down-to-earth dude. I liked both cars immensely and Steve spent a solid hour discussing the pros and cons with me and putting up with my OCD! I can only recall him using one car salesman cliche, something along the lines of "what will it take to get a deal done today?" but I will forgive him because in the end we worked out a VERY NICE deal (even though the car was so new it hadn't even been listed on their website yet and they could have held out for some more offers). I honestly think Steve appreciated my enthusiasm for the vehicle and for Subaru culture and thought that the car and I kind of deserved each other. Steve then drove me 30 minutes out of his way to drop me off at the only bus stop with late night service. I set the pick up date for the one week, but ended up needing an extra week to get financing sorted - they had no problem in extending the deal. When I came back out Steve once again picked me up at the bus stop. We ended up chatting for an hour as the business manager was processing a lot of sales (this places sells a lot of Subarus for a reason...) - during this conversation Steve really showed his passion for and knowledge of cars, we talked about his weekend car project and walked through all the upgrades we thought would be appropriate for my WRX! It was a very fun and informative chat and I enjoyed learning about Steve's backstory. I proceeded to meet the business manager, who was also very friendly, I was prepared for his extended warranty sales pitch but I was pretty confident thatI would not be opting for it as the car was already certified pre-owned. Anyway, I ended up upgrading to one-level higher certified pre-owned coverage (which includes electrical, brakes, suspension etc - in addition to the basic drivetrain stuff already included) since the car has a solid 70,000 more miles covered on its warranty. He also essentially threw in tire and wheel coverage for 5 years (a must-have with a daily driver in Manhattan - a few flat tires will pay for the whole warranty) so I felt very good about spending a few extra bucks. Anyway, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish; the car runs great and is a lot of fun (perhaps a little too much fun sometimes...). I highly recommend Steve and the whole team at Wayne Subaru - I will definitely be going back if the need for another wonderful car ever arises. I'll be a Subiu owner for life! Thanks guys! More

He was attentive to what i was looking for, did not push on anything I wasnt interested in and was very easy to work with when trying to get the payment amount where i needed it to be. I would absolutely recomment Wayne Subau and Steve Durkin to anyone looking to buy a car. Dave Fried is the finance guy, and he makes what can be the most pressured and unpleasant part of the process much easier. I didnt feel any pressure when it came to extended warranties, he answered all of our questions is an easy manner. I never felt condescended to or pressured. Sitting there in his office, my fiance and I felt more like we were talking to someone we've known for a while as opposed to someone we had just met. More

My First Enjoyable Visit to a Car Dealership! I must have spent an average of more an hour a day for the past month researching nearly every car that is available in the United States. I was looking for a 5-door sedan because I've always had an affinity for wagons, and that my wife and I have added a little one to our family I know the extra space will come in handy. My clan and I made the switch from renters to owners just a few short months ago when we bought our first home. It is located about an hour north of the Bergen County suburb where I grew up. The weather is about 10 degrees colder up here, the mountainous landscape is much differnt, the winding roads are filled with blind curves, and in a little over 3 months I have driven up and down more switchbacks than in my previous 35 years combined. I wanted an all-wheel drive vehicle, but until I spoke with Steve Urskin at Wayne Subaru I had pretty much written off that possibility and I resigned myself to settling for a front wheel drive vehicle. I made nearly 100 online inquiries with car dealerships that sold nearly every make and model that's available in the US, and when doing so I was very specific with regard to what I was looking for and how I wanted to handle things. In each online inquiry I asked that the sales rep handling the lead only contact me via e-mail. Well, in the two weeks leading up to my visit to Wayne Subaru for a test drive (followed by a vehicle purchase) I received, on average, 20 calls/voice messages a day. It seemed to me like Steve Durkin at Wayne Subaru was the ONLY car salesman who actually resd my inquiry. That was the first clue that the WS dealership was different. The next request that I included in my inquiry was to ask the sales representative who was assigned to me to provide me with some ballpark figures that would give me an idea of the overall cost, both at the time I made the purchase as well as the monthly figure. Nearly 100 inquiries...want to know how many sales people too the time to run the numbers that I requested? Nearly 100 feelers...just one sales representative, and, not surprisingly, it was Steve Durkin from Wayne Subaru. After that I was sold. Not only was Steve able to get me a brand new car, but he was able to do it for only FIVE DOLLARS MORE than my monthly payment for my car with the expiring lease. And the final reason for my giving Steve and the staff over at Wayne Subaru a five star rating...they found a way to make all of this happen at a price that made me feel like I robbed them blind AND they found me a vehicle WITH ALL WHEEL DRIVE.
