The Story: I told my colleague I needed to get a new car and he said that I should accept the fact that I'm going to get ripped off and its my job to reduce how bad the end result actually is. When I walked in I saw an open floor and with a full sales staff and I though here we go again. John introduced himself and we sat down to talk about my car needs. He listened to what I said and really helped me identify what I need vs what I want. We discussed how various options and purchase/lease terms would effect my bottom line. He is not pushy and made the process fun. He was willing to discuss all aspects of the deal and didn't dress-up fees and other cost-related items. He is very straight forward and approachable. Also, if he didn't know the answer to a question, he sought the answer and came back to the table (the same goes for over the phone). In closing, I visited several other dealerships before going to Wayne Hyundai. It was a good and bad move. The good part is that I was educated and had knew terms I was willing to accept. The bad part is that I nearly didn't bother going because I was so frustrated by my experiences at Ford and Honda in Fairfield and Hyundai in Denville that I nearly accepted the idea that the process is painful, stressful, and a rip-off. In the end, I leased a Sonata at a price I thought was very reasonable. I enjoyed the experience so much that I thought about trying to work there part time - and I'm far from a sales-oriented person. With John T., you hope he never retires because every few years I'm going to hope that he can help me out again. More
