I went in to Fix a recall issue (walked in as a single female) and they attempted to tell me that my master and slave cylinders along with my rotors (entire brake system) was in dangerous conditions. I had just gotten the car 6mo prior from Carvana after a 128 pt inspection. I was told they were so low that it was dangerous for me to drive, but then they said 1mm of brake pad was left…which means my rotors weren’t grinding as metal on metal. So I refused and said I would call back later, I scheduled an appointment with a local shop I took my last car with, there was 3mm and 6mm of brake pads left on my car (a brand new brake pad is 9mm). I feel like they were beholden to fix the warranty issue and saw who they perceived as a single uninformed woman come in with her car, they didn’t know my uncle has been a parts dealer for 40 years so I have more car knowledge and resources to call upon than the average woman. The worst part is they tried to act like my friend and that they were just trying to tell me like a “friend” what I needed to fix ASAP for my own safety (they quoted me $1000, and when I quoted the same thing at another car place it was under $600, and that included an oil change—which Ford dealership didn’t throw in!). I’m so tired of dealerships being a place that runs rampant for predatory practices against women. I will never take my car to this place for anything other than warranty (read: free and required for them to do free by law) jobs. More

The service advisor, manager, mechanics, drivers, office staff, etc. are terrific. My car has been serviced thoroughly, promptly and professionally. My 2018 Focus ST has 52k worry free miles. The only expense to date- tires and speeding tickets. Thanks to Watsonville Service, I drive with confidence.
