My Mom's Mazda CX-5, just over a month old, would not start. Thankfully, my (81 year old) mother and I were together when it occurred. We called roadside assistance and a very nice tech gave us a jump. start. Thankfully, my (81 year old) mother and I were together when it occurred. We called roadside assistance and a very nice tech gave us a jump. Understandably, she was very upset and we were concerned about her safety and the reliability of the car. The following morning, my husband took the car to the service department in Wantagh. Craig Rotter was wonderful! He replaced the battery, addressed a recall issue and also discovered that the tire pressure sensor was faulty. Considering we did not have an appointment, everything was completed in a timely manner that same morning We were very pleased with the courteous and professional service we received. More
Craig Rotter, Asst. Service Mgr., went out of his way to help me and make this a seamless visit. He replaced a communication switch in no time. All was well until I was about to leave for a long overdue vacation. The day had already gone BADLY. When I got a warning on the dash of my 4month old (for me), low mi, certified CX5 I reacted shall we say badly as well. I was close to Wantagh Mazda. I pulled in with no appointment, truth be told semi hysterical. Alex Nipas stepped in and after an initial misunderstanding as to the target of my displeasure he literally came to my rescue. It was a computer problem issuing false messages. He was able to take care of it in time for me to leave on my trip. If it was not for him I never would have made it. Craig Rotter was extremely helpful today in resolving the two issues on my 2019 CX-5. One was a low battery in the ignition key, which he quickly replaced at the intake counter. The other was a lost connecti two issues on my 2019 CX-5. One was a low battery in the ignition key, which he quickly replaced at the intake counter. The other was a lost connection to the navigation system. Craig effectively used his experience with that issue, and fixed the connection, with ease, while the car was parked outside. The whole process took a few minutes without the car being moved into the shop. Craig truly demonstrated what it means to be customer service oriented. And I thank him for that and compliment him on his pleasant and meaningful inter-personal relationship. More
The engine light on our 2015 Mazda3 came on, so we called to get an appointment—and the soonest was 10 days away! While that was bad, the person on the phone suggested tightening the gas cap, as a loose cap to get an appointment—and the soonest was 10 days away! While that was bad, the person on the phone suggested tightening the gas cap, as a loose cap could often trigger the engine light. We made the appointment, but also tightened the cap—and three days later, the engine light went back out. We kept the appointment anyway, because you never know.... I explained the situation to Craig, he warned me that the diagnostic would cost $160+, but I felt that we were better safe that sorry, said to do it anyway and sat down to wait. 20 minutes later, he came to tell me the diagnostic had come up fine—no problems with the car—and given that it was the cap "causing an air leak on the evac system" until it was tightened, he didn't charge me at all. While I'm dropping a star because 10 days is a very long wait for an appointment, it was otherwise a 5-star experience and I'm grateful. More
