I'm chalking my experience up to education but you can learn from my mistake. They had the specific truck I was looking for in stock and they advertised they would ship free of charge (I am just north of learn from my mistake. I was lead to believe the Ford Gold Certification meant that an actual comprehensive inspection was done to the vehicle. I received the truck via transport without any type of dealer tag or accompanying paperwork and an empty gas tank. Within the first 100' of driving the truck it was apparent there was an issue since there was a loud grinding sound and vibration in the steering wheel. Fast forward to today and my truck is at my local dealer for the 2nd time to try to address this noise. While at the local dealership, I was told the tires sold with the truck are not safe due to dry rot and should not have been approved as part of the Ford Gold Certified Program. My email to the Sale's Manager with my concerns went unanswered. PS. The paperwork submitted for the Gold Certified Warranty had the incorrect mileage and shorted me about 800 miles from the 12k mile comprehensive warranty. In the day and age of buying online and having cars delivered, I felt it was a safe bet to go that route but I was wrong. Buy in person and maybe you'll have a better experience but I would certainly have an independent shop look the vehicle over. More
