I’ve really liked working with Walser Nissan in Coon Rapids! I also feel like I’ve saved a lot of money by purchasing a warranty. Now most service work for Altima is done through them! Rapids! The service department at Coon Rapids Nissan is less than subpar to say the least. I had my car in for warrantied service and since it was there, I asked if they could do me a huge favor and clear the tire s subpar to say the least. I had my car in for warrantied service and since it was there, I asked if they could do me a huge favor and clear the tire sensor code light that inadvertently came on when I got new tires last week saving me a return trip to the shop (full disclosure, I did get my tires elsewhere, but purchased my car there). The guy that checked me in stated they’d have to diagnose, I mentioned there is no need, that they would hook up their machine; go around my tires to figure out which one caused the issue and the code would clear…I’ve watched it being done as this has happened in the past when I switch out my summer/winter tires. He then states they don’t have the machine there to do it and I’d have to go back to a tire shop because they do. As I leave the service department, I see a huge advertisement for tires that are on sale…so they only sell tires? Is my car the only Nissan that has these sensors? This makes zero sense to me. Seriously, my car was there, they were already having to diagnose the “service engine soon” light that came on, which was an oxygen sensor issue as my gas mileage was severely affected and had been a repeated issue over the years. In the meantime, after telling my husband what I was told; he called Walser Nissan in Burnsville and they, without hesitation said yes they could clear the code. With this information, I called Coon Rapids and spoke with Shawn (service advisor) explaining what my husband had learned figuring both being Walser dealerships, the same courtesy would apply. He said it would cost me $95 to diagnose. I stated that there is nothing to diagnose, I know what it is. He repeatedly talked down to me, talked over me and continued to challenge me as though I was an idiot and I didn’t know what I was talking about. Then he had the audacity to say we don’t do anything here for free. This isn’t the first time I’ve had a bad experience dealing with Shawn but definitely will be the last, I am done. I will go clear across town to get service done on my vehicle from now on. Shawn is so rude, so condescending, it is ridiculous. Just because I am a woman, doesn’t mean I don’t know what’s going on with my car. Walser, are you that desperate for employees that you allow your customers to be treated poorly? Is it so hard to provide good customer service? What was even more frustrating is that I get a call from someone else saying my car was ready to be picked up, to find they put 15 miles on my car to test drive it after they worked on it and left me with the gas light flashing. Their paperwork showed the same miles coming in as going out, which is absolutely not true. Thanks for nothing! Update: maybe you could take a lesson from Discount Tire; service guy came out even though he was in the middle of working on another vehicle, took care of the problem which again literally took TWO MINUTES and I was on my way back home!
