This is my first experience using a dealer to purchase a car, so I have nothing to compare it with. I am not very trusting of salesman and feel they will tell you what you want to hear. My sales rep was great -- I came in a month before I planned to buy my car just to look at it in person. I got some basic introductory information and Josh gave me his card and said to call any time wit planned to buy my car just to look at it in person. Since this was my first time buying a car, I ended up having a lot of them throughout the month. He was really great about picking up his cell phone or getting back to me promptly if I missed him. We bought our new Altima earlier this year. Carl helped us. Every time we go there, we have outstanding service. Everyone is so friendly. Carl ALWAYS stops and talks to us when he sees us there. I had a great experience at Coon Rapids Nissan. I am driving a 12 year old car and feel that it is aging. I still had quite some time to buy a new car before this one would give up the ghost and I hadn’ driving a 12 year old car and feel that it is aging. I still had quite some time to buy a new car before this one would give up the ghost and I hadn’t planned on buying another vehicle until next year sometime. This was our first day looking at cars and we had gone to 2 other dealerships that day. We drove to the Coon Rapids Nissan lot on a whim. When I saw an Infiniti EX with low miles and the perfect color sitting on the lot, it was as though angels came down from heaven. I have always wanted an Infiniti FX or an EX so we test drove it and it was perfect for me. It was clear someone had taken VERY good care of it. We were not prepared to discuss any details, we were just looking. After talking about financing the car I backed out and had to think about it for a day or so. My sales person, Carl and the business manager, Blake were VERY understanding and patient with us. It wasn’t an exceptional deal but it was a fair to good deal. I came back to get the car the following business day (Monday) because I don’t think I would’ve been able to find another car in the future with the same specs. When doing business with people I find that it is very important for me to like the people that I do business with and everyone at Coon Rapids Nissan was exceptionally nice. We had been to other dealerships and when I told them I wasn’t quite ready to buy the sales person would visibly lose interest. Carl at Coon Rapids Nissan treated me VERY well and put up with me being very indecisive. What ever I wanted to look at he made it happen. When I asked if another Infiniti car had a certain feature he said “let’s go look at it”. I realize this is his job but he could’ve just stood there and said “I don’t know”. Coon Rapids Nissan is a best price dealership so there is no negotiation. We will go back to buy cars from them in the future. More
I have had nothing but problems. The dealership has left my car a mess on numerous occasions, they have damaged personal items and not done anything about it. The air filter was changed and the vents blown my car a mess on numerous occasions, they have damaged personal items and not done anything about it. The air filter was changed and the vents blown out but all the dust, dirt, and debris was left on the floor of the car. After the heater box was replaced, I not only found a pair of sun glasses wrecked, but there were greasy prints left all over the inside of my car including the steering wheel, the windshield, the drive selector and the windows, the car was returned to me with the heat not working and I had to bring it back so they could get my heat working again, I also noticed that the plastic casings over the drive selector letters are all scratched up like they were slid across a floor. Sure, they “made it right” on some of the issues, but it wasn’t all of them and it required me having to bring the car back in and wait for it, or drive another rental car. They should have just done it right the first time! I have had issues with the car since I bought it, it has been in the shop more times in 2 years than my old car was in the 12 years I owned it and now it has been decided that despite purchasing an extended warranty when I bought the car and still being within the standard warranty, they are now being instructed to no longer perform warranty work on the warranty issues I've been dealing with for two years. (Nissan Consumer Affairs was just as useless in helping me resolve these issues.) The drivers side window malfunctions every 2-3 months, the doors lock on their own, and there is a horrible smell coming from the A/C. I was just informed by Nissan that they can't figure out a reason or a solution so these will be considered "normal operations" of the vehicle. Also, when I purchased the car, they came down on their price to match what another dealership was going to give me through a vehicle buying program, on the day of signing papers, they informed me that they really "lost money" on my deal. So inappropriate to tell a customer. More
My first impression was wonderful. I was able to look through the entire lot without being hounded and asked a million questions. I am extremely particular about the size of the car I am looking for and also the interior comfort. Josh greeted me with a smile when I walked into the dealership and let me explain to him what I was looking for versus directing me blindly. We did take a test drive and during the trip I realized that the car I was looking for was just not on the lot. Josh didn't push me into continue looking but simply thanked me for stopping in. I did see a vehicle that would be perfect for my in-laws and will definitely be sending them to check out the lot and ask for Josh. More
