Our Brutal Experience with Chrysler and Stead Motors, Walnut Creek We leased our Chrysler Pacifica Limited 2018 minivan just two days before our youngest son was born. Like any family, we expected this vehicle to last through school years - reliable, safe, and fit for purpose. Instead, our Chrysler minivan didn’t even survive kindergarten. At only 6.5 years old with just 56,000 miles, the engine suffered a blown head gasket out of nowhere. Chrysler’s response? An outrageous $19,000 quote for an engine replacement. After “goodwill,” they lowered it to $15,800, which was still higher than every other reputable dealer we contacted. Our van sat at Stead Motors Walnut Creek for 30 days while we pleaded for support from Chrysler and the dealership. What did we get? A carousel of transfers, denials, and “there’s nothing we can do.” To make matters worse, every single person at Stead Motors Walnut Creek , sales staff, service staff, Paul the Service Manager, and even David, the GM, openly admitted that Stellantis (Chrysler’s parent company) is terrible to deal with and that they were embarrassed by how cases like ours are handled. If the staff themselves say Chrysler customer service is a nightmare, why sell these cars at all? The only answer we got was a shrug. Finally, a Chrysler HQ case manager admitted our “customer satisfaction score” of 790 should have qualified us for help and promised to escalate it to their area rep, Brian. We never heard back. More chasing. More dead ends. No solutions. After 30 days of going in circles, Stead Motors Walnut Creek offered us a humiliating $2,500 trade-in for our Chrysler Pacifica, alongside a push to lease a Jeep, not even close to what our family needs. Here’s the kicker: the very same broker who quoted our trade-in days earlier through Chrysler offered us $3,000 when we leased a Kia. Kia valued Chrysler’s car more than Chrysler itself. And as if that wasn’t insulting enough, we still walked out owing $750 in diagnostics fees. Stead Motors Walnut Creek generously gave us a “discount” of $50. This experience has been nothing short of brutal. We truly loved our Chrysler Pacifica, but between Chrysler and Stead Motors Walnut Creek, the customer service, accountability, and goodwill were nonexistent. Families deserve reliability and respect; we got neither. I will go out of my way to warn others: Do. Not. Buy. Chrysler. Do. Not. Trust. Stead Motors Walnut Creek. More
Best Sales Experience Ever! Ask for Billy Thank you Billy! Truly exceptional service and a great person. Listened to what we wanted, asked questions to help us make decisions, did an excellent Thank you Billy! Truly exceptional service and a great person. Listened to what we wanted, asked questions to help us make decisions, did an excellent job finding the color combo we wanted after he showed us multiple van exterior and interior combos in stock. He really cared about our experience and getting the vehicle we wanted. David also assisted us and was polite and helpful. Alberto was very nice and brought clarity to the financing, charges and additional purchase options we could choose and did including the extended warranty (opted for since new vehicles have tons of computer components and buttons that can fail and cost big bucks to repair, divided out over the length, was only a couple hundred bucks additional each year), gap insurance and Zurich protection. Very impressed and happy with our experience and purchase. Looking forward to returning for services visits and to buy our next Ram truck there. Side note, I had viewed other dealers websites and even called them but chose to come to Walnut Creek CJDR when I spoke to my uncle about our interest in getting a Pacifica Hybrid. He has known multiple people there for decades and highly recommended them and their professionalism. It is rare to find people who have worked at the same dealership for 15, 20 years and that is true here because they are great people and a great dealership who care about the customer. More
Good, professional service department. OK, RAM and other MOPAR fans, maybe there's a dealer service that doesn't totally suck. After a disastrous visit to Stoneridge CJDR for an annual service on my RAM 2500 diesel, I needed someone to undo, redo and fix the mess that Stoneridge made. Who can screw up an oil change? Stoneridge unfortunately. Went to Walnut Creek CJDR http://www.walnutcreekcjdr.com today. They're part of the Michael Stead group and wife has been happily using Stead Porsche service for the past 15 years. Walnut Creek CJDR fixed everything that Stoneridge had f*cked up. Everyone I worked with was professional and courteous, and the back lot, shop and offices were all neat and orderly. Plus they washed my truck, and it was even ready when they said it would be! OK, it's an "n" of 1, but I'll go back for my next service. ...and for those who have suffered at Stoneridge, Walnut Creek CJDR service department answers their phone! More
