Made an appointment with the service department to have a rattle noise, coming from the rear of my 2017 truck with less than 22K miles, diagnosed. Appointment was at 7:30 AM and I arrived before they opened. Told the service advisor I would be waiting for my vehicle and I would also like my tires rotated. Around 10:15 AM my truck had still not been looked at or had any work done on it. Was told by Nora Taylor (Service Advisor) that they were trying to catch up from Friday and they had also had a couple of technicians quit. Nora later told my truck would be next after the technician finished what he was working on. At 11:30 Nora told me the problem was in my leaf springs. Nora said they had filed a claim with my extended warranty to have both leaf springs, u bolts, and shackles replaced ($1336) and she would know if it was approved within the hour. About 1:00 PM Nora told me the claim had been denied because of my low mileage and if i wanted to have it fixed it would be an out of pocket expense. I declined service and left paying $135 for the diagnostic fee, $19.95 for the tire rotation, and $7.79 for unknown shop supplies. Contacted my extended warranty company to see why the claim was denied. Representative told it was declined for two reasons: the mileage and because of a Technical Service Bulletin that GMC had sent out regarding the noise I was having. Representative stated he was the one that spoke with Nora and he told her the exact reasons that he told me. I found the Technical Service Bulletin GMC issued for my year truck and exact noise I was hearing. I am very dissatisfied with Walker for several reasons. First, what is the purpose of having an appointment if you are going to waste 6 hours of a customers day. Second I have a strong suspicion that they were just trying to pocket extra cash from my extended warranty instead of trying the correction that GMC issued for the problem I was having. Third I am disappointed that Walker GMC failed to tell me about the bulletin and I had to find out about it through the warranty company. I have called to speak with the service manager regarding this complaint and have not received a call back from him. I have bought my first and last vehicle from Walker in Alexandria. I understand they will not go out of business because of me but word of mouth of bad business practices goes a long way. More
Why would you charge someone for how long you “think” it will take to fix a vehicle instead of the actual time it took?!?!? They’re ripping people off!! The shop hours are $135 an hour for labor yet it took will take to fix a vehicle instead of the actual time it took?!?!? They’re ripping people off!! Every time I call to speak to the service manager Buster he’s conveniently unavailable! More

I purchased a 2019 Buick Encore the first of July and yesterday the vehicle's tire went flat due to a huge gash on the inside of the tire. I called Walker Buick and was told by the sales person that he could not replace the tire. He said no tire has a warranty and I would have to pay for a new tire. It seems to me that a new vehicle's tires should be safe from defect for at least a month. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone! Do not purchase a vehicle from Walker Buick. More
Not great! When I bought my car from here it was a very pleasant experience. Every time I’ve taken my car in for service, not so great! Although I made an appointment and showed up 30 minutes early, i still waited 3 hours for an oil change and tire rotation! Then when i got home i realized one of the lug nut cap was missing and I called the service center and they said that they weren’t responsible for it. It’s only $15 for a new one but they took it off I didn’t. Maybe give people a heads up if they are going to have to waste a day sitting in a waiting room and also take responsibility for your mess ups!!! More

The salesman told me that their service department does an eighty point check on all of their preowned vehicles before they are placed on the lot for sale. My nephew and I found nine problems with the truck! I agreed to sign the papers if all issues were fixed and they agreed. They did agreed to put a new set of tires on the truck at a reduced price for my inconvenience. It has now been two weeks since I signed the papers and I still do not have my truck!?! And they can't tell when it will be ready! This has been a horrible buying experience for me and sadly still ongoing... More
Service Rep Lack Of Friendliness I have had my vehicle service here only a handful of times. Every other time was a great experience. My most recent visit however was lacking in cus I have had my vehicle service here only a handful of times. Every other time was a great experience. My most recent visit however was lacking in customer service satisfaction. The work done by the techs was great. It was my service rep that was lacking. Initial encounter was eh ok and there after all was pretty terrible. I asked the service rep to call me when it was finished. He never did. In fact he told me to just come back to see if it was done. I live an hour away so just coming back is an inconvenience unless I make a day trip to Alexandria. Every time I did go to check on it, the service rep was magically always on the phone, trying not to see me, even though I stood 5 feet from him. Once u had cashed out and was ready to go, I still remained pleasant with the guy but his body language and just his face to be quite honest, showed he was annoyed and ready for me to get out of his hair. I know I will need to return to Walker for later service but I refuse to work with this guy again. More

I was the first to pull into the service area and had to wait 10 - 15 minutes for the service manager to acknowledge I was there. He was visiting with another customer that pulled in behind me. I had a job to go to and had a coworker waiting to pick me up that also needed to go back to work. I was pleased with the work performed but not with the way I was put on the back burner for him to visit. More

I arrived on time for my 10:00AM service appointment. After 5 hours of patiently waiting, I inquired about the status of my vehicle only to be told that no work had begun on my vehicle. No one took ownership for basically forgetting about me as a customer. When I spoke with the manager he was very condescending and offered no real apology or attempt to rectify the situation. After 6 1/2 I finally received my car. My ticket stated that I refused service on my vehicle because I finally stated that I could no longer wait for my vehicle to be serviced. Walker GMC placed numerous other customers before me and acted as if it was no big deal that I was in their place of business for 6 1/2 hours and received no service. More
