This is a follow up on the 4-29-22 review of my experience with the body shop. AS you can see there were several issues but to be fair an update is necessary to get the full picture! 1. One of the experience with the body shop. AS you can see there were several issues but to be fair an update is necessary to get the full picture! 1. One of the things I didn't include in the first review was that my truck given to me-as finished-DIRTY! I spent 2 hours cleaning all of the body shop dust from the interior before I used it. 2. Another issue I encountered was lifting of the hood in strong winds or when a semi would pass. It was very disturbing. So I opened the hood to look for adjustments to properly tighten the hood down. The hood latch was not properly installed or adjusted! I reinstalled & properly adjusted the latch that was put on crooked so now it latches properly and does not allow such lift. 3. On June 15th, less than 3 months since they completed the truck, the expensive bug deflector on the front edge of the hood ($153 to replace plus labor) blew off the truck & is now somewhere in Wyoming! For 4 years and over 400,000 miles the initial installation held strong, but the installation done by Wabash Valley Chrysler, after repainting the hood, couldn't even last 3 months!! I contacted Brandon Cole, my contact at the dealership, and arranged to stop in so they could clean the remaining adhesive off the hood and I explained I wanted to talk with the General Manager, Greg Thompson. I arrived and Brandon took care of getting the hood cleaned but Greg was no where to be found. I reviewed the complete experience with Brandon and explained that I believed something needed to be done to make these things right. He texted Greg and got a response that Greg was not interested in taking any responsibility whatsoever. Not even for the bug deflector!!! Now, in my opinion, when I'm going to make a major purchase, like a new car, or servicing or fixing one, the attitude of the management of that business would be important to me. For example, my son, had an oil change done to his work van. Shortly after, the van quit on the side of the road and had to be towed. What was found was the air cleaner had been removed and not put back allowing a large item to get sucked in and destroy the mass air flow sensor. He contacted the business that changed his oil, they researched it and found they did not put the air filter back in and took full responsibility for the bills of the damage. THAT IS THE KIND OF BUSINESS I WOULD WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH! More
This review is on the Body Shop (no option for that below). I HAD A TRULY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. When I went there for an estimate I made it clear that my pick-up, that needed fixed, is my income so below). I HAD A TRULY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. When I went there for an estimate I made it clear that my pick-up, that needed fixed, is my income so while they have it I'm earning nothing. I was told it would take 1 to 1 1/2 weeks so we set a date for me to drop it off. A week later I was told that they have been having problems with their paint booth, actually for about 3 months, and they are having problems being able to paint my truck but they are working on it. A week later-now 2 weeks into it and my truck is still in pieces-I went to visit them and talked with Robbie the body shop manager. While they are waiting for help to fix the paint booth I suggested that he starts thinking out of the box, i.e. take the parts that need painting to someone that can and start working on the mechanical issues that need fixing in the meantime. He refused to do either!!! THEREFORE, I did not get my truck back until many more hassles and 3 1/2 weeks from the time I took it in! Well, the story does not end there. When I picked it up I was told it would be ready 2 days prior. Then I was told it will be the next day, then the next day... They were aware it needed a front end alignment and had an appointment that day but missed it because they had other problems they could not figure out. I had to get on the phone to find someone that would get it done because Robbie refused to. When I picked it up there were several issues that I had to return it for an additional 3 days--YES, they had it for a total of 4 weeks!!!!! 1. A brace that runs the entire height of the left front fender was not installed. 2. The right side fender was not aligned properly with the door (in fact when they did align it later they chipped off the paint from the door!) 3. Power steering fluid was not properly bled and filled, I had to add 1/2 a quart the next morning! 4. The pinstripes were not put on properly (later fixed-until 2 weeks later when they started coming off!). 5. The chrome on the fender was of terrible quality and I have not received any help to make this right! 6. The paint on the hood looked terrible (later they made that better). 7. There was a rattle in the exterior mirror that they fixed-WELL...for 2 weeks-now that is back!!! And, 8., the paint does not match the rest of the truck that is only 4 years old! They were never interested in taking care of the mechanical issues, 2 of them, that I handled elsewhere. There was one bright spot when I went looking for the general manager. I was helped by the assistant GM who is also the new car sales manager-Brandon. He understood quality issues and helped to get the truck finished and even worked, personally on trying to polish the bumper for a couple of hours because he saw the problem. All in all, though, it was an unprofessional experience and the Body Shop should have never taken the job knowing their problem with the paint booth & knowing the truck was my income. BUT, the lack of quality control is astounding and I now have a 4 year old truck that is worth less than before the accident because of the poor quality of work by Wabash Valley Chrysler!!!!! More
