My volvo is 12 years old and Volvo of Manhattan has kept it running for many of those years. The service is very good. The attention to detail is evident whenever I go in. It costs money to buy a volvo a it running for many of those years. The service is very good. The attention to detail is evident whenever I go in. It costs money to buy a volvo and maintain it because it is a quality car with sophisticated mechanisms. They require care. I have gone to other places over the years, especially when there was no Volvo dealer in Manhattan for a while. My honest observation is I pay for quality and I get it. I pay to keep my car running predictability and it does. I pay for access to Volvo engineers when the problem is complicated and they get on the phone. I appreciate the technical expertise and I smile when I drive my Volvo. Do I want a new one? Of course, but the mechanics at Volvo love my car as much as I do, so I have wait. Raphael Santore More
Waited >7 hours to get service done Terrible service. I arrived at 7:50am for an 8:00 appointment to do my 20k Volvo XC90 maintenance. I was told the service would be done in 3 hours and Terrible service. I arrived at 7:50am for an 8:00 appointment to do my 20k Volvo XC90 maintenance. I was told the service would be done in 3 hours and I could reach out to the service person (Antonio) via his mobile phone and main contact phone by either text or call. I texted the mobile phone at 10a to get a status, no response. I tried again at 11am, no response. And I called multiple times on both his mobile phone and main contact phone, no response. I even left a message, no response. After waiting 5 hours with no response whatsoever, I came to the dealership to check on it myself. Antonio told me that they hadn't started on my car, and he was pointing fingers at the mechanics. And this was at 1pm. I had to specifically told him that this is covid19 time, I had no place to go while waiting for the service to be completed and can he do something so I can get out of here ( I dont live in Manhattan). By then, he told me that he would tell the mechanic to start working on my car right away. And the whole service took another 2.5 hours to finish. At 3:30pm, I finally got my car. This is 7.5 hours spent on getting my Volvo XC90 service. I was super frustrated by the fact that there was ZERO communication. No one picked up my calls/texts, I had to physically go to into the dealership to inquire about the status. And this is in the middle of covid19 when everything's close. I'd avoid this place at all cost. More

Service is overpriced. Advisors don't care. Service Manager Tom P. has NO knowledge of the car he sevices. Parts Dept. is hard to find, have to walk through the shop past tires and parked cars. When yo Manager Tom P. has NO knowledge of the car he sevices. Parts Dept. is hard to find, have to walk through the shop past tires and parked cars. When you get there it's a mess and no one knows the product. Had the pleasure of meeting the General Manager, Nelson G. Had to pry him away from the pretty girls that work there. Didn't seem interested in what I had to say. Went back to flirting with a girl in Service Dept. More

Half the time when i call i get a Voice mail answering system and the other half of the time a get an incapable receptionist who keeps telling me that someone will call me back to make appointment. The last time i was on the phone with the receptionist she said they wanted to charge me diag time for work. Even though it was previously diagnosed by Volvo Queens? I even told them that i just want what the diagnosed changed i dont want pay diag time, which i was told i would get a call back, once again. To this date no one has called me back and the last time i called i got the front desk voice mail again and gave up. Dont waste your time More
Notorious rip-off artists. AVOID at all costs! I took my 2011 car in for its 75,000-factory service. It's a routine job -- changing spark plugs, fluids, filters. The cost? $1,667 (after a $100 coup I took my 2011 car in for its 75,000-factory service. It's a routine job -- changing spark plugs, fluids, filters. The cost? $1,667 (after a $100 coupon discount)! I had been calling Volvo Cars of Manhattan the entire week leading up to my appointment as I wanted to know how much it would cost and how long it would take. No reply. I show up and they hit me with this. I went ahead with it because I needed the service, and having just come off Volvo of America service warranty, I had no idea how much something like this would cost. But I called around to some area dealers afterward and found out that Volvo Cars of Manhattan had ripped me off big time. Here are what the other dealers quoted me for the SAME job: $450 (Riley Volvo, Stamford, Conn); $900 (White Plains Volvo); $932 (Kundert Volvo, NJ); $395 (VC Auto Repair, NJ. An excellent indie shop specializing in Volvo and run by a former master Volvo dealer mechanic.) So why did this cost me so much? I thought it had to be a mistake. I finally got someone from the dealer's service department on the phone. Tom Palladino, the service director, says he thinks their rate was competitive and their service superior to competitors, and he offered to give me a free detail to make me happy. I appreciated his time but didn't take him up on the offer. I did try taking it up with Volvo of America but they told me that their authorized dealers, to whom they grant a license to operate in their name, can charge customers whatever they want. So I'm SOL. But YOU don't have to be. Beware of Volvo Cars of Manhattan. I think this is their MO. They book your appointment, don't answer questions about time/cost at the time of the booking, promise you a follow-up call that never comes, and ignore all calls from you. Then you show up to your appointment in a bind and already having committed the time, and they take full advantage. They saw me coming and fleeced me. I failed to do my homework and fell for it (just LOOK at the litany of similar complaints on their Yelp page). Fool me once, shame on you. But it won't happen to me again. Don't let it happen to you. Do yourself a favor and learn from my costly lesson. Take your business ANYWHERE but Volvo Cars of Manhattan. Don't say you weren't warned. More
Excellent customer service I want to Thank Service Advisor Javier C. from Volvo, Mariela and James Mitchell from Drop Car.com. My Bay Ridge Volvo dealer closed after we leased I want to Thank Service Advisor Javier C. from Volvo, Mariela and James Mitchell from Drop Car.com. My Bay Ridge Volvo dealer closed after we leased our XC 40. It’s an excellent vechicle and a pleasure to drive! The safety equipment is fantastic and like my old 1976 and 1983 Volvo 244DL’s is built like a tant, Rock solid with a smooth ride. It was a pleasant experience dealing with everyone, while my car was picked up and delivered, for secheduled maintenance. The car was picked up and delivered when they said it would be. Any questions and concerns were promptly answered by Javier. Regards, Jimmy C. from Bay Ridge Brooklyn More
You will regret dealing with Volvo Manhattan I did a lease for Volvo XC-90 T6 on paper only, the leased car has a problem shutting down at every traffic light, the front and side sensors are not I did a lease for Volvo XC-90 T6 on paper only, the leased car has a problem shutting down at every traffic light, the front and side sensors are not working, engine alarm signal, etc problems started from the first leasing hour, and dealer kept the car for repairs. The dealer refused to give me another zero cars, or terminate the lease, I was having a rental car for one week, I do not have any car now, but I DO HAVE TO PAY THE LEASE WITHOUT A CAR! sad but true. My advice never to buy a car from Manhattan Volvo! More
Terrible as soon as they had my money, no service, no help! This dealer overcharged me for TT&L and won't return the difference. They also arranged shipping for the vehicle to Dallas. It was lost for 3 days a This dealer overcharged me for TT&L and won't return the difference. They also arranged shipping for the vehicle to Dallas. It was lost for 3 days and I finally had to track it down myself. Then my temporary tag expired and they promised to track down my registration paperwork and get me a new temporary tag--that never happened. I finally had to call and speak with the the GM Mike Dillon, that was no help, so I demanded they let me contact the service they use for registration. It took me 3 days to straighten it out including several trips to my local DMV office and time missing work. Did I mention the vehicle was not as described when it arrived? Maybe perfect in Manhattan is different than in Dallas. More
