We apologize for any misunderstanding that may have occurred during your recent service visit but it seems you may not have fully understood your warranty and what applies to this specific situation. Your vehicle did not fall under the guidelines for the extended warranty and that is why Volvo had to be contacted to approve a special allowance given for your previous service. This is also why Volvo asked you only for a partial payment. We fully believe that nothing that we reported was even remotely unethical or illegal. At Volvo we often conduct “Goodwill Gestures” that have to be approved by the manufacturer which is why your previous visit was covered. Your current issues have nothing to do with the recent repairs of your vehicle and there has been a significant decline in the mechanical condition of your vehicle since you stopped servicing with a certified Volvo dealer in January of 2022 according to our records. Over those two and a half years and roughly 37,000 miles the systems in your vehicle were not properly maintained which is why you are now experiencing these issues. Unfortunately, Volvo corporate nor Volvo Cars of Fort Washington is responsible or accountable for inconsistent maintenance of your vehicle. As we explained to you before, the problem with your brake system is due to the fact that your brakes are overheating which is what causes the burning smell and the pulsation you are reporting. This will only get worse with time and will cause substantial subsequent damages to other parts of the vehicle. I understand it’s not always easy to maintain your vehicle properly but for yourself and the other people sharing the road with you we would hope you would take care of these repairs immediately. At the very least please get a second opinion so you can see we were being truthful as well as recognize the danger you are putting yourself and others around you in.
