Incompetent service dept. Sales department lie. I moved to the US in Sept 2016 and one of my first tasks was to source and purchase a car. Being new to the country I limited my search to main car I moved to the US in Sept 2016 and one of my first tasks was to source and purchase a car. Being new to the country I limited my search to main car dealerships/franchises. I found a VW Routan at Autonation Volvo that to met my immediate needs. Test drive arranged and other than what appeared to be a small issue with the wheels being unbalanced all seemed ok. There was a concern that the CarFax report had a 35K mile 7 year hole in it, but I was assured this is not unusual and wouldn't be a problem (I wasn't familiar with CarFax, but now know this assertation by the saleman was not true). A sale was agreed and a promise made that the issue with the vibration through the wheels would be fixed. Next you speak to a guy who will try and upsell packages such as a maintenance program (which I took),and windscreen insurance. To try and sell me windscreen insurance I was told that ‘the windscreens on these German cars are thinner than American cars and therefore easier to break’. Ignoring the fact that the VW Routan is a rebadged Dodge Grand Caravan, this claim is disingenuous at best. Reading other reviews it seems it is not unusual to be fed some BS by this guy. Next you speak to the finance guy (I was paying cash). The finance guy makes you feel like he is doing you a favour by allowing you to buy the car, I'm guessing he's annoyed he doesn't get to sell someone one of his finance packages. I get the car home and the heater stops blowing warm air and develops a high pitched squeal. Driving the car back to Autonation, steam starts to bellow from the engine bay. Faulty radiator hose diagnosed and repaired, the squeal wasn't. The wheel vibration noted on the test drive was still present so I took it to a local tyre shop. The problem wasn’t an unbalanced wheel, but warped and blue (overheated) front brake rotors. The rear brake calipers were seized and pads near bare metal. All 4 rotors, calipers and brake pads needed replacing at a cost of $1000. 6 months later and it is time for an oil change/service. I'd purchased the 3 service package so took the car back to Autonation. I was given the impression this package would follow manufacturers service schedule. This was not the case. The package is for 3 oil changes only. Driving home the “Change Oil” message popped up on the dash - Autonation failed to reset this so was asked to return to clear. 6000 miles (7 months) later the car went back again for another oil change. Again on the way home the “Change Oil” warning popped up on the dash and the red Oil light on the dash would light up when braking and the engine was noisy at idle. The oil level was below the “Safe Area” marked on the dipstick. So, when I received the standard ‘please let us know if your experience was less than truly exceptional’ I did just that. I never received a response from Autonation. Remember the fix to cooling system which failed after 30 miles? The heater started blowing cold again and coolant emptied itself all over the road. The reason? Autonation failed to put coolant system back together correctly causing the new hose to rub on the thermostat housing and fail. In summary the mechanics at Autonation Volvo - did not complete a full inspection prior to sale resulting in the car being sold with dangerous brakes and a faulty cooling system - failed on 2 separate occasions to clear the change oil - failed to refill engine oil to an adequate level. - failed to repair cooling system correctly causing it to later fail. The sales team: - Are, at best, disingenuous when upselling car packages. - Lied about the importance of the CarFax report missing 35K miles/7years of data. - are rude/arrogant when they get wind they won't be selling you a finance package. The After sales/ customer care team. - Ignore you if you have problems or raise concerns. Autonation Volvo Bellevue are by far the worst car dealership I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Avoid. More

A few months later, I had to take it in to AutoNation Bellevue due to warranty issues because I moved back to Washington. It was a horrific experience and the misogynistic employees (several men, not just one), brought me to tears. I ended up having to call Volvo Corporate and they were on the phone when some of the disgusting treatment occurred. Even the one female employee who was working there at the time commented on how I was treated. Ironically, I went onto Edmunds.com earlier today to purchase a new Audi and received a response from Audi Bellevue. In the email response, I noticed that this was AutoNation of Bellevue. Alfredo was was patient & thorough in explaining my options - he didn't have to sell me the car, he needed to sell me the deal. A pleasure to work with him. One star deducted because the finance guy was rushed, and because the GM didn't respond to email inquiry. More

Horrible overall experience Our family has purchased Volvo's from this dealer in the past when it was barrier Volvo, and its sad to see how much it has changed. We recently tried Our family has purchased Volvo's from this dealer in the past when it was barrier Volvo, and its sad to see how much it has changed. We recently tried to purchase a car from them but never had a single person from their sales department call us. The only time we heard any news on the deal we tried to work was during one of the three times we reached out!! We even put in an offer on a vehicle, were told they would run it by their manager and get back to us (as we had to go), then two days later not hearing anything I went in and talked to the manager who said they wouldn't budge at all on price! What a waist of my family's time! We went to Bob Byer Volvo and found a much better deal at a much better price and the experience was actually enjoyable! I would avoid AutoNation at all costs! More
Outstanding, great job. Thanks Outstanding is the best way to describe the service I received from Cody in the sales team to James in finance. They have definitely got all my future Outstanding is the best way to describe the service I received from Cody in the sales team to James in finance. They have definitely got all my future business and I would recommend them to everyone I know. Although I will be the first to admit that the sales guy that I initially got in touch with almost put me off going there all together. I had spent a long time searching for the car I wanted through many different dealers, I found one at Autonation Volvo, reached out to them through the online chat feature, a sales man emailed me and told me the vehicle was in the shop for receiving inspection and wouldn't be available for viewing for a couple of days and asked him to let me know as soon as it was ready. Anyway a few days past and I called the branch (spoke with Cody in Sales) to find the status of the vehicle, only to be informed that someone had put a reserve on the it and since purchased. I was very frustrated to say the least, the sales guy I spoke with initially never told me about this "reserve feature" or that the vehice had been sold. At this point I was not going to give Autonation my business. A couple of weeks past and they had another vehicle in that was really nice, I reluctantly reached out to Cody (second sales guy, the really helpful one) and expressed my interest he explained the reserve feature, which I promptly did as to not miss out a second time. Drove the car and loved it. Now comes the fun finance part, we all love the hours sat in the dealers going over this part don't we. So I explained what I was looking to pay, Cody came back with numbers that scared me and honestly weren't going to work for me. Then came the inevitable meeting with the finance manager (James), he was great, no pressure got me numbers I was really happy with and worked for my budget. Drove the car home within 4 hours of arriving there, complete with a full tank of gas. Within a couple of days I had some issues with the car, the car was sold "AS IS" no warranty, but they had me take to the BMW dealership. Honestly to my shock they fixed everything without any questions. They got me a rental car and even detailed my car and refilled the gas tank again. In short, if you are looking to buy a car, new or used, go to Autonation Volvo, ask for Cody and get James to do the numbers. No pain, no drama, no pressure, just genuine nice people that actually care about the customer. They can even get you a car from the other local Autonation dealers. Brilliant, thank you so much for this great experience. More
