Vehicle sustained damage to oil pan, which caused issues to overall engine. Service team has been working on this vehicle for almost 2 months now and still working on it. The labor and engine have all been to overall engine. Service team has been working on this vehicle for almost 2 months now and still working on it. The labor and engine have all been covered and approved by insurance already. Why does it take this long to repair? Apparently, service only has one technician who is qualified to work on it. Now, we understand that there are other cars that need to be serviced or repaired, but any vehicle that has been in the shop for almost 2 months should be considered priority, especially considering that money has been given for the parts and labor. What is the hold up? Why is that only one person is working on such a large project? Now, it leaves the consumer with a doubt in their mind about the reliability of the vehicle and of the capabilities of the dealership. Expectations have been set and broken several times over, with cases being brought to VW's Customer Care. All in all, it went from being a bad dream to a nightmare. There seems to be a lack of common courtesy and etiquette regarding a customer's needs. Apparently, a vehicle that is deemed a time-consuming repair is the lowest priority. If you wish to create value for your customers, learn to sympathize with them, set the RIGHT expectations and provide the best service you can. Nobody in that department can claim to offer the best service because if they did, the repair of this vehicle would've been a priority, not set to the side, especially since good money has been sent. I ask any customer frequenting this dealership to keep in mind that service is defined as - "The action of helping or doing work for someone." I do not believe "service" was achieved in this matter. I bought a used 2009 Passat Wagon from Atlantic VW August of 2012. Just before New Years I brought this vehicle in for its 40k mile tune up since maintenance keeps the cars going. Unfortunately the car beg of 2012. Just before New Years I brought this vehicle in for its 40k mile tune up since maintenance keeps the cars going. Unfortunately the car began intermittently idling roughly following that tune up. It really manifest itself 3 weeks later on a highway trip that required acceleration up some hills. The engine started "missing" and the check engine light came on. I took the car back to Atlantic shortly after this episode and they went right to work to fix the problem, and also trying to make me a happy customer again. The service rep, Sean Munro, spoke knowledgeably but also with concern and made sure that I would bring the car back for its service needs in the future. The engine problem was resolved easily since it is a common problem in Passats, although the repair is laborious. That's why we get warranties because the fix it yourself days for cars are over. Anyway the car is back even better than when I purchased it. Thanks guys. More
Brought my 2008 Touareg in for service. I needed tires, 40k service and a ton of minor maintenance needs. Atlantic VW could not have been any easier, nicer or fairly priced. Turned the job around very quickly. I would not hesitate to bring my vw back for service. More
I bought my 2010 Jetta in Riverhead NY and my 3 year oil change was due so I brought my car to West Islip(only because this dealership is closer to my house) and it is by far the WORST service dept experien change was due so I brought my car to West Islip(only because this dealership is closer to my house) and it is by far the WORST service dept experience I have ever had. First of all, when they changed my front sway bar bushings, they didn't even align my car back. They sent me on my way with my steering wheel not centered and at a 1 O'clock position. When I brought my Jetta in to get aligned, I had asked for the alignment paperwork because I wanted proof that they actually performed the alignment. They never ended up giving me paper work. They actually turned in my car over to the showroom and everyone in the service dept left before I had a chance to speak with them. Then I called and asked if i could get the alignment paperwork and the Service Manager told me that they never EVEN performed the alignment!! I told the manager that you definitely did something to my car's steering wheel because now it is centered again and he told me that my steering wheel must have been straight all along. (Yeah, Ok..because steering wheels magically fix themselves). To make matters worse the own service dept manager was getting very loud on the phone with me. I had to actually tell him "Sir, could you please lower your voice, you are screaming in my ear". It gets better(I'm being sarcastic) ...they ended up scratching my steering wheel all over the bottom and told me they will do nothing about it. In the end, if your VW needs car service, do NOT take it to atlantic VW in West Islip or you will be very sorry. More
Car dealerships are intimidating for normal (middle class) folk, and when my 2003 Beetle (purchased from another local dealership) needed repair, I was pretty nervous about taking it to the dealership. class) folk, and when my 2003 Beetle (purchased from another local dealership) needed repair, I was pretty nervous about taking it to the dealership. It was old, and dealerships, I'd heard, were very expensive. In my experiences with other dealerships, customers are sorted by potential profit. Not so here. Even though my car is almost 10, I was treated like I'd just driven off the lot- or more accurately, was about to drive it off the lot. Customer service is impeccable at this dealership, and it's not based on whether you look like you're there to buy a pricey new Eos. My father and I looked at a few pre-owned models, and even though we were on the fence about it, Jonathan in sales spent two hours with us and never once put on a hard sell. Not even a little bit- he just seemed confident he could get us what we wanted at a price we could afford. (And he did, but I couldn't part with my old Bug.) Even after we ended up just getting the repairs done, every. single. person we'd encountered asked if we needed more help, thanked us for our business, and offered coffee. Although I didn't end up with a new or pre-owned VW, I will definitely go back here when it's time. Fantastic service, fast, reliable and an all around excellent experience. More
